Had a fun trackday at the RedBull Ring in Austria.

Aaaaaaaand bent a rim in the 3rd lap (went over the outside curb and hit one of those damn yellow "bananas"). Didn't know until I got home (100km away) and washed the car. Goes to show, how much a good rim can take! If it had cracked or withstood the force and put the energy on the tyre (probably breaking the sidewall) I wouldn't be going much further and i would have continued my way off the track. Instead I continued for another 9 hard laps and finished my session normally.

Jeremy Clarkson: "So when you were saying that it wont slide, what you meant was, I cant slide it.
    James May: "Yes."

It a bit of a bitch to push on but the two metal pins have like a metal cone at the end and the mirror caps/shell have like some sort of locator that hold the mirror to it. I think they were designed to give if hit the cap/shell would pop off.

Took advantage of the APR sale. Have only driven about 20 miles since I got it but so far initial feel is it's how the car should have come. The drivability is greatly increased and noticed what feels like boost of power through the low-mid to upper-mid range. Don't think it was any major HP gains at the end of the day, but it just overall feels quicker.

Did the 93 tune with the test pipe file to run piggies. Have an extra set of Milltek H-Pipes to gut in the garage and put on.

Made some piggies out of my Milltek H-Pipes

Was pretty tedious but took 2.5 hours. I drilled through the middle with a 3/4" bit. Then took a sledge and a long flat head to separate the material from the edges. As the middle got pinched I would re drill through the middle to keep it clear so the material had space to compress. Once the edges were separated, I used the flathead to move the cat upwards, and grabbed it with a nice pair of pliers.Twisting while pulling everything out. It all come out in a bunch of pieces, theres really no way to get it all in one piece. Side note, the passenger (right side) was slightly harder since there is a little more pipe between the cat and the flange.

(Need to blow out the dust with the air compressor, just ran out of light)

I used 3m VHB tape along with adhesion promoter. Also drilled 3 holes on the bottom to further secure it with the existing torx screws under the bumper.

Interested in this response too. I have one that's warping/bending.

I can't speak to the outcome in his case obviously, but from my personal experience couple years ago with same issue, I pulled it off (mine was lifting on passenger side front), cleaned the rust/corrosion flakes and whatnot out, dried it out with a hair dryer and then poured a bit of two part epoxy to re-bond and then clamped it (with rag to protect paint finish) overnight and this seemed to be a 75% fix.

However, I could still see the slight waves/ripples where it had been previously separating and it wasn't perfect and so I just bought a new moulding via ECS and had it painted at my local body shop to match. From then on I could go back to staring my car directly in the eyes again and not squinting to ignore the modest imperfection that I knew was there.

Just pulled it. 2 screws hold it in. I cut it along the top and the bottom on the inside. Removed all rust. So annoying how these are made because they dont need metal in there. Took a while since the metal seemed to adhere to the plastic. Id say its about 85-90% corrected. The plastic still has slight warp but I cant really fix that.

The wheel was repaired where you see the slight bend. Not actually bent though.

Its definitely an easy fix. In my case the rust was fairly abundant and I wanted it all gone so I took my time. Maybe about 3 hours on one piece so I didnt damage it. Thats including bonding time with instant Epoxy.

I finally put a track video together from a trackday we had at the RedBull Ring in Austria via the data from my phone tracking the session. This was my first time with the car on a faster/bigger track. I really need to change&upgrade my clutch/flywheel!
