The distance between the mounting clamps for the motion seem very close. Iíve always tried to maximize the distance as I perceived it as cutting down on the box wobbling at speed. Can anyone comment on this? I donít really have any facts, so curious to learn othersí experiences.

Looks long but not as tall to use for regular luggage.
the video on their site (linked by dropshadow) shows some decent sized duffel bags getting put in there.

It's probably designed to accommodate skis (hence the Alpine name) over luggage, but I like its lower profile (compared to the regular Motion XT L and XL. It is a little bit taller and has 2 more cubic feet of capacity than the Flow it replaces. I want something to leave on the car longer that has more space when I need it, but isn't massive.

I think it was a generic video for the Motion line but not the specific alpine model.

The video looks like it was of the XL or XXL.

Good eye, I didn't even notice because I had the Alpine selected.

The specs say 5-7 skis or 3-5 snowboards. 13" high.

Yeah I asked because I had thule's old box for ski's and i couldn't fit a full size suitcase(about 14"+ in height) because of the low profile

You will not be able to get a full size piece of luggage in the Alpine. If you are looking for a box for this purpose, the Motion XT size L is for you. You can easily fit 3-4 suitcases in it plus some. It fits perfectly on our cars. The Alpine fits much more than the Flow, such as folded down sport strollers and large duffels. It's technically for ski/snow, but it's a much better all-around box that has a low profile than the Flow.

Regarding spacing of the mounts, you can span these further than your roof will allow.

Selling my Thule Aeroblade Edge crossbars and Sprint XT T Track bike rack off of my allroad. I figured I would ask anyone here before I list them.

Thanks! Wheel Specs BBS CH-R 20X10.5 et 25, tires are Michelin super sport 275/35/20. Not a lot of fender to tire clearance, I only took it for a test drive and so far it doesn't really rub, but i didn't drive hard. I'll know more in the few weeks. If it rubs i'll probably trim the fender liner a bit.

Not at the moment, might keep it for now to swap back and forth. Since it's the GF's car, need wheel back ups in case she cracks or bends the rims. Although she's starting to learn how to drive a lowered vehicle. LOL

went to look at these Vorsteiner 19x9.5 et37 VFF 103 last night for a potential purchase. Trying to decide if I want to hold out for a 20" wheel. I've been trying to find pictures of allroads on 19s and it hasn't been easy haha... the forum filters out "19" whenever I try to search with it.

Has anyone gone 19s and regretted it and ended up moving to 20s instead?
