My first set of pads were free but they wanted to charge me $800 for the 2 front rotors. No thanks, keep the pads.

I got rotors and pads replaced, parts and labor + bled the brakes for $300
It is my GF's car and sh is at 45k miles and the brake pad light still has not even come on and the dealer wanted $750ish for pads and rotors. I said no thanks. Can pay someone to do it for less than half that with the Akebono pads. And will wait for the light to even come on first. I did do the Carbon Collective Platinum Wheel sealant and the brake dust just does not really stock to it. A good rain storm or a hose and they are clean again.

I only run E85. I get about 14-15mpg mixed driving between town & highway. I can usually get about 240 miles on a full tank.

That's the biggest inconvenience for me, wish the tank was bigger.

At best, I got 21 mpg but that was a very boring drive.

If I drive how I like to, about 17-18.

Worst so far is about 16 with some aggressive acceleration now and then

The price difference between E85 $1.69 and 93 octane $2.93. I think I break even when I do the E85. I do prefer to get it to support American farmers and makes dick Chaney less money.

The setting of the default mode was a b8 thing the b8.5 is designed to default to last setting. That's why mine always starts in individual mode. Go back set everything to original the start over without using the b8 part about setting a default and you'll be golden.

B8.5 allroad 19" optional wheels are on closeout. Part number is 8T0601025AJ. The images that pop up sometimes show an S5 wheel diagram, but the part number is for the allroad wheel.

I just ordered a set for $494 shipped from here. I'm currently seeing prices from about $122-135, some with free shipping.

that is a great find! I am considering getting another set ( car currently sits on it). Keep in mind this was a $800 wheel option (with tires) when purchasing new.

I had the same thought. Just bought snow tires for the 18" wheels last year, but if I'm going to go through the effort of bigger wheels/tires for winter then they need to be something I enjoy looking at for 4 months.

RS5 brakes clear the stock 5-spoke 18" wheels, but it's a bit too close for comfort.

Exactly my thinking. I always get bored with my cars when they're in winter mode, so I need something that I like looking at. These should do the trick.

Perfect. Just recoded to the original values (thanks vcds for keeping logs) and it is defaulting to wherever it was shut off. Thanks for the assistance.

    Drop,

Is it worth trying E85 on a stock tuned engine? I have NOT physically checked but sites are saying there is a Mobil station near me selling E85. What concerns me though is that Mobil says on their site "Ethanol flex fuel (formerly known as E85) has between 51 and 83% ethanol". That seems to be a very large range.

That's par for the course. You'll never get actual E85! The highest Ethanol content I've measured via the E-sensor was 79%. Usually it's around 60%.

You'll make more power on E85 with the stock tune because your running 105 octane and the ECU will add lots of timing.
Plus if you do the math, when E85 is at least $0.60 cheaper per gallon its always the better option despite the mpg's being 25% less

@AUDacIouS4 summed it up. The actual level of Ethanol fluctuates greatly. I've never run E85 on a stock car, but I can tell you it's worth the price to get an E85 tune. I personally wouldn't be driving an allroad without it.

Thanks drop and AUDacIouS4. I will give it a try. Can't wait until I have finished the last round of PM items (transmission fluid is next) so I can get a tune with a E85 map.

It's funny, I am "trying" to get worse mpg by driving faster but my daily commute is so slow that by the end of the commute, the trip computer average gets to 19-20.

I monitor all my fuel ups with an app and the last 4 were 17.7, 18, 20.2 and 19.1. All E85 and an APR tune.

    No tune on 93 were 23, 22.4, 21.7 and 23.1.
