Will putting a FMIC require a retune?

Im fairly new to the whole AUDI scene. The first mod i wanted to do was to put a Front Mount Intercooler and wasnt to sure if it would need to be retuned or not. I've looked around and have not found an answer. So if anyone has any information please let me know. Thanks

Reopen thread to ask the question why your first mod would be a FMIC? Just so you look cool? There's many more mods that would be more beneficial to do first over a front mount.

Definitely shouldn't be your first mod, but to answer question yes a tune is required, because that should be your first mod.

Yes just to look cool. I dont plan on doing any Engine work. Just Slamming it, throwing rims on it and calling it a day. I Have a Integra to try to be "Fast"

i will answer the question correctly

yes, you should get a re tune with your fmic and here is why:

while not neccessary, a retune will justify you getting a fmic as well as increase MPG and make you go faster

LOLwut. My Subaru WRX was probably the best car I'll ever own. It handled better, braked better, pulled harder, made more power, sounded better, was more reliable, was easier and cheapier to work on, and probably would have lasted longer than my b7 a4. Don't ask me why I sold it, worse decision I've ever made. Don't get me wrong, I love my audi, but subarus are AWESOME vehicles.

Dont get me wrong, but what would have happened to your Subaru if you threw a short ram on there, god forbid a larger intercooler without a tune specifically for the mod? From my understanding, the maf will not adjust the engine (hence the dumb part) and run lean enough to burn a cylinder head. Literally, for every mod you put on you need a tune for. Which is why I learned (from ericpaulyoungs thread) that the b7 a4 can adjust for proper fuel injection measurements with any injector, on any tune. I like to think this makes the 2.0t a pretty solid engine.

Subarus are great cars but there is a lot to worry about when it comes to modification = the whole fun of the car amirite?
