a bit overdue..my new silver b7 a4

Edit:(This thread has become somewhat of a project/build thread. I'd rather not litter the forums with countless pointless threads of what I've done to my b7 each time, so I will update via this thread and save some space. I appreciate the understanding.)

New to the forums for the most part. Picked up my b7 just under 2 months ago and haven't gotten around to doing any of this yet. The car is an 07 and had 45k miles when I got it. It is in unbelievable condition and I am very grateful that the previous owner took such good care of it. I'm a college kid (20) on a college kid budget, so while I have big plans for the car, it may take me longer than most to get it to where I'd like it.

This is my first audi, but they've been in the family for a while. My cousins have had many RS4's and S5's. So I'm just doing what I can to keep up with them lol.

Like I said, still kinda a newb so it'd be greatly appreciated if ya guys took it easy on me lol.

So far I have an APR Stage2 tune along with the Carbonio intake and a Eurocode test pipe put into it. It's all a long process but I figure it's a solid start so far.

It's still a blank canvas as far as exterior cosmetic mods go so I'm toying with quite a few ideas in my head on how to make it my own

I'm assuming that cylinder thing next to the intake is the custom alarm you have listed in your sig?

Anyway, just thought I'll point out, your front bumper has some damage underneath. Seems like someone pulled it a bit or something coming off a curb.

Appreciated and yeah that's the alarm. Noticed it as well and am going back and forth whether it's worth taking care of right now or if I'm gonna change the front bumper up altogether. Thanks for lookin' out though.

Welcome to AZ. If you're trying to keep up to your cousin's RS4's and S5's, you made the wrong choice. Car looks clean though, definitely a blank canvas. As for the alarm, was the factory alarm not good enough? I surely hope you don't have to carry another FOB and dis-arm it seperately.

thank you, haha and i know if it came down to it it's really not even a fair contest but it's held its own so far. they've got 15 or so years on me and a much much bigger budget so i'm happy without a doubt. Regarding the alarm, it came with it already installed as well as the front grille (couldn't even tell ya what brand or style it is) and the alarm was installed to override the factory one so it basically just swapped out.

so this may sound a bit crazy, but i am already considering saving up for a while and trading/selling my a4 to cover the difference in order to get a semi-high mileage rs4. like i said each of my three cousins have each had one themselves. two have sold them and the youngest one currently still has his. his isn't really an ordinary rs4, it was Graham Rahal's glut orange rs4...unbelievable F****ng car. i've loved the rs4s to begin with but my cousin's really makes me want one of my own.

so maybe all of those "big plans" i have for the car will be put on the backburner while i further contemplate this idiotic, yet very tempting, decision lol.

my intent with that last post was not to seem snobby or rub it in anyone's face by any means. i love my a4 would be more than happy to stick to my original plans for it but i know ultimately i would eventually move on to the rs4 anyways so i just figured it might make more sense to cut the a4 project short before investing more into it and just putting down for an rs4 sooner and save some expense from modding the a4.

lol that rs4 is truly a wonder. even more impressive in person. the capristo exhaust it has on it makes it sound outta this world. maybe i'd be able to talk my cousin into giving me a deal when he decides to get a gtr ;)

Def go coilovers... if you are gonna tear the suspension apart, either yourself or pay someone to do it -- while you are in there, might as well do it right. Having the ability to adjust ride height is def worth the investment.

I am also in the same boat with just graduating college and on the college budget. Currently shopping around for a B7 or B8 A4 with under 40k miles and preferably around the $18k-$20k price range. The only thing I am nervous about is buying one and having to deal with maintenance problems that may come with the car, but I understand the commitment that comes with owning this type of car. I really want to do CPO for that sake but kinda pushes the envelope with my budget and specs that I want. Plus not to mention student loans will be coming in next month...car payment + student loans = never moving out of mom and dads house. -__-

(been a while since i've posted pics on AZ so i hope i'm doing this right)

decided to paint my calipers orange and plstidip the wheels black. (going back and worth whether or not i want to make them gloss or not)

pretty easy process and i'm really happy the way the orange goes with silver and black. pictured it in my head one way and it turned out identical to how i imagined.

i know it needs lowered but i am holding off until the spring somehow it's just less of a hassle than it would be in the winter. these will also be my winter set up permanently after this season and i plan to buy some rs4 wheels for spring/summer.

moar low plus some spacers would make it clean as hell. lower it before you buy the rs4 wheels, the stockers look better than you think.

In regards to the wheel and caliper painting, not a fan. I would either strip off the plasti-dip and paint the calipers black, or at least paint the center caps black as well as the calipers (ditch the orange).

agree, those are the next changes i will be making. just being patient with lowering it and waiting til spring (winters are unpredictable in Northwest Indiana and can be really manageable or god awful) and spacers will most likely be put on sometime before Christmas.

to each his own. in my opinion, completely blacking out the wheels and calipers looks childish unless done correctly on a black car. any kid with any car can go to wal mart and buy black spray paint and make their car looks "cool" without having any real eye for how it could/should be done. personally, mine turned out exactly how i visualized it and i couldn't be happier for the time being.
