    Intro/Help Needed

Hey everyone, been following the forums for a couple months and finally decided to sign up. It's pretty neat that there are so many people with such deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the a4. Got my first car 3 weeks ago, a blue 2004 ultrasport with 85k. I love her to death!

Now for the bad news. Recently started doing some preventive maintenance on it. Last week I changed the oil for the first time by myself. Was really happy about that. Today I attempted to replace the valve cover gasket as the shop that inspected it said it was starting to leak. It was a bit of a challenge getting the actual cover off because of the tabs holding the pipes down. We got them off and replaced the gasket, it broke into several pieces! Upon putting it all back together we found a broken pipe! It's the pipe right under the breather hose. Must've snapped when we were wrestling the cover off.

What should I look for as a replacement part, and how should I go about it? Please help! TIA

Is that the 3 way hose? 034 has an upgraded one, it's a common fail point

I believe it is the part labeled 9, right after the 3 way split. I think this is it? Would it be difficult to replace?

Disregard this thread, I found a thread with the same problem. Thanks!

Same exact thing happened to me. I just went to a hardware store and got some hoses and clamps and did it myself [cost me ~$10] rather than $60 or whatever Audi charges for it. That piece gets so brittle so fast and breaks very easily...especially with all the heat the turbo generates in the engine bay.
