Soo, what would you pay for HID Headlights?
My car has halogen headlights and I found someone selling his stock xenon headlights with bulbs and ballast for $250. They are OEM. Do you guys think its a good price? Is it plug and play?

seeing as a kit with bulbs, ballasts, and projectors that can be fit to our lamps is $270, i'd say $250 for OEM housings is a good deal. are they low beam projectors or bixenons? low beam and euro bixenon are plug n play. i'm not so sure about U.S. bixenon. that might just need some VAG-COM recoding at the very worst.

not bi-xenon, the ones in the photo have the small lens.
i could be wrong, but i think those are the standard headlights most A4's come with.

i'm not selling. i only have two sets, my wife would be unhappy about not having any headlights and you would have to pry the bi-xenon ecodes on the other car from my dead hands.

ahh ok
in that case 250 is too much better off buying an aftermarket HID kit

Actually in running the part number that does look like it is a Xenon headlamp assembly. If i were you id ask for a picture with the back cover popped off to confirm. but running the part number it appears to be xenon.

I disagree, $250 for a set of OEM housings with bulbs and ballasts is a good deal for a plug-n-play solution, and will give better light output than installing some aftermarket HID kit without proper xenon projectors. Though the TRS mini-H1 HID kit w/projectors for $270 would give him much better light output, just requires a little DIY

if the housings were not HID then 250 would be too much but since i looked up the part number and it looks like they are then 250 is a good price imo as well. I forgot to put that in.

Well, I would go pick them up personally so I would be able to check them out before paying. I think Ill buy them since they would be a great improvement from my halogen headlights

The label says D1S H7, scratched but still able to make out, they are OEM Xenon.

$250 for complete oem HID's is a steal, not just a good deal. Used ballasts at the cheapest sell for ~$80 and made in china d1s bulbs for about ~$30 each.

looks like a good deal if its plug and play..and you can buy ecodes later down the road for the stealth look and keep the ballast and bulbs...

I cannot comprehend how people drive around with oem halogen lights. Its amazing how terrible the visibility is compared to an HID setup.

So I was able to buy the headlights and installed them today. They came with ballast and bulbs, the only bulb missing was a high beam which I took from my old headlights. They work great, still have to find somewhere to get them leveled. They have the self leveling motor but my car is not equipped with it, anyone know how to level them manually?
