    2.8 coolant leak

I have a 2001 2.8 quattro. Recently I replaced the coolant temp sensor and now after driving and getting to normal operating temperature coolant is leaking and evaporating from behind the vlave covers. Most of the smoke is coming from behind the drivers side vlave cover right in the area below to resevoir tank. I know coolant is burining because I have filled up the tank and after driving and waiting for the smoke to clear I have checked the tank and there is hardly anything in it. Has anyone run into a similar problem and knows whats wrong?

I think its the metal coolant pipe behind the engine to access it i think i have to remove the intake manifold. Has anyone done this on a 2.8?
