Ordered ST Coilovers and Hotchkis Sway Bars. TIPS?!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am getting into Auto-Xing the car..since I can't afford K04s or Tials. haha I'll set it up for the corners.

I got the ST coilovers coming and I ordered the H-Sport Sway bars.

Anyone have this set-up and have any tips for me?

I want it to look and handle good. But I also don't want to smash my oil pan on shit (did that already with just H&R races :( )

Install is this week, if I get the sway bars in time. Coilovers are def going in wednesday.

SO....Anyone have these sway bars??? Coilovers?

Coils are good. I like them. They feel super smooth and comfortable for a coil over.

The coils are garbage if you decide to go low. Put it this way. I have a brand new set with about 100 miles on my other A6 that I could've easily swapped over to my 2.7t. I opted for h&r race and koni yellows instead. I have my other car about as low as h&r race, and it's like riding on a pogo-stick. Extremely bouncy.

Damn 2 posts back to back that are complete opposites.

I only hear good things from the STs. This is the first time I'm hearing otherwise. Hmmmm

Search around. You'll see a lot of people mentioning they're bouncy. They just choose to live with it, being they're only $800.

I don't mind a rough ride...as long as it helps performance.

How low are you? I don't think I'm going thatttt low

Last time I checked I think I was at 23 1/4 front and 23 1/2 in the rear on 19 with rubber bands.

I had my STs installed today.... (@ Drive AutoWorks). Ride is no doubt firm (no more dives during take off or braking), but handling is quite responsive! FTG is 25' all round on my stock 16 inch wheels....no slammed look here. Not bouncy either. From what I understand, the lower you go,the 'bouncier'.

May do anti-sway bars later (probably H&R - have these on my CC).

That's better news as I was thinking about getting st's....... I'll chalk this up as a good review I think from what I read on the forums it's about a 70/30 spit for ppl who don't like them and ppl who do

IMHO some people look for cheap but expect the world. These aren't top notch quality coils. You get what you pay for, and at $800 a pop, it's a bargain.

Personally I like how they ride. Yes, the A6 is a boat and some expect a smooth buttery ride with decent handling. I like the little bumps and feedback I get from the roads I drive.

Bottom line, they are affordable enough for you to be able to give them a try, and if you don't like it, sell them off and buy something else.
