5 Bar FPR vs Crushed 4 Bar (GIAC J31)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I have a 2000 A4 1.8tqm with a K04 and GIAC J31.

I do not have the recommended 5 Bar FPR. I was curious if I could try to have a shop "crush" mine, or buy a "crushed" one instead of an actual 5 bar one, in the interest of money... As the actual 5 bar ones are quite pricy.

Can anyone confirm/deny if this would work with my setup?

Do any other Audi/VW's have the 5 bar from factory?

We crush the Fuel Pressure Regulators all the time on our Toyota race cars (read: Corolla's) to richen them up. It is very easy to do. You just slap a pressure gauge on the rail, pop off the vac line, and crush to spec. For the Bosch ones I think you need a sort of dimpled or cone shaped object to do it, but it should be pretty simple.

A pic of what? The crushed Corolla FPR? Or a pic "mid-crush"? I haven't done a Bosch one.

My car does have what appears to be a crushed 4 bar on it. With a 5 engraved over the 4. So it was probably bought crushed

Do you have any specs to check if its equal to a 5good bar?

And I can get a pic of it if your curious un1ko

That would be great! I never heard of this, but I've had the one 034 sells (see pic) I didn't like it.

Is this what you guys are talking about? That's crazy I haven't seen this before.

This can open more options for me, I got the Maestro 7 and my plan is to use 1000cc injectors for my build, if I ever finish it. lol! If I can tune it with a 5 bar it pushes the injectors to - 1280-1300 cc/min (5 bar)
