Ti wheels stolen
My 2008 gunmetal Ti wheels were stolen in Park Slope, Brooklyn NY. Please be on the lookout on Craigslist.
Happened right out front in a nice neighborhood too.

Sucks bro. I feel your pain. I had a brand new (1 week old) set stolen off my car a few months back. Heard they caught the guys, who were from brooklyn. Maybe they got out or it is another group. Did you have wheel locks?

No wheel locks and now I've learned.
Cops said they are hitting the area hard. Luckily I have friends bringing me Stock 17's to get me on the road. Wonder if there will be damage.

Even if it goes off the audi alarm is a joke. Get wheel locks (preferably 2 different ones), turn your wheels to the curb and get an aftermarket alarm.

turning your wheels won't help, they typically use a few bricks and place them about 60/40 under the car, let the air out of the tires, push the car down so it see-saws up, yank the wheels off, then do the opposite on the other side and boom.....no wheels
-
Sorry to hear about your wheels. I live in Brooklyn and just ordered my locks. Dumb question, do you put the wheel lock in the trunk with the jack?

I'm sure a good thief can remove wheels locks too but maybe a bit harder than regular lug nuts. You should take the wheel lock key with you whenever you leave your car parked overnight or long periods of time. Same goes for the ones that have radios with removable faces but always leave it in the car then complain that their radio was stolen.

Didn't knw people still bought those ugly face radios from best buy^^. Also its actually quite easy to remove wheels locks with the proper tools I had a previous car i purchased with wheels locks. I had gotten a flat realized i had no lock key, buddy removed it almost immediately.

Like all security, I think it's more of deterrent - nothing is fool proof!

My friend who's a mechanic has a special tool kit from Snap on that's made to remove any and all wheel locks. Its not that much of a deterrent if they have this tool kit and a cordless impact gun. They move just as fast as a NASCAR pit crew.

When I woke up yesterday there was an imapla on blocks on my street. I would have thought nothing of it if I didn't notice the plates were from Quebec, obviously it wasn't someone swapping there wheels on the street.
ugh
Would insurance cover this?

A little update to my insurance coverage. I heard bad stories about Geico but I can't believe how much they came through for me.
Not only did they pay the cost for OEM new wheels at $500 each, they paid for new tires at $205 each, new wheel locks at $75 (which I did not have), new mounting and balancing, new alignment (which I did not have), $400 damage to my rocker panel near the pinch weld, also new OEM TPMS sensors! Needless to say I'm very happy with my Adjuster and Geico right now. We'll see if my premium goes up next year and if so by how much....

Glad everything worked out! Since this might happen to me since I park my car around the coney island and brighton beach area every now and then; is there enough clearance for a jack to lift a car if it is on rotors?

Glad it worked out OP. Thieves are some of the scummiest people on earth.
To all, wheel locks wont stop a thief...only slow them down. Plenty of ways to get a wheel lock off, and not even with special tools.

Yep this block is considered one of the nicest and most expensive. Cops said they are looking for specific things. Hondas they really go after. My Geixo adjuster said honda fit wheels are not.
One customer had 4 diff sets of wheels locks on his and they still took them!!
