Aux Fan not kicking on...Relay-where's the freakin relay???

Ok, guys, I recently posted on here asking for some direction regarding an overheating issue. You guys steered me in the right direction and I found a hole in a bad coolant line patch job.

Now that issue is better, I'm not spewing coolant. Now, I have noticed that the aux fan is not coming on at all. I am not stupid, just new to Audis. I have having a hard time finding any electrical diagrams, and fuse/relay maps.

I am also not sure if the A/C fan is coming on either. As long as I am moving the temp stays straight up, and I can run the a/c without issue. If I am stopped at idle, the a/c gets warmer and the temp gauge goes up. I have yet to see the a/c fan kick on. I just bought this car last Saturday, so I am learning daily all of the work-arounds and cut-corners that were made in liu of doing things correctly.

All the help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

The fan relay is located on the bottom of the drivers side frame rail right behind the where the bumper shock bolts

The control module(not exactly the relay) is somewhat under the car next to driver side intercooler. You can also check the for voltage at the fan connections... they are located below the power steering reservoir cover(behind driver headlight). You should see a brown connector and a black connector...each with only 2 large wires. Those are for the main electric fan behind radiator and smaller aux fan in front of radiator. Turn on AC to max and both should carry voltage..if they do then the motor is bad. You can also test motor by putting 12V to the motor.

It is a control module because it turns on fans in stages... I forget the temps but at low temps fan is on low...at high temps fans go fast. But either way with AC on max both fans should at least be on.

Great info. Thanks so much. That is what I needed. I saw the nest of connectors but had no idea what was what. I think I am gonna go nuts with a wire labeler and put a name on all of 'em. It looks like I have some plans for my evening now.

is your A/C condenser line sweating like crazy...???

my aux fan (in front of the A/C condenser thingy that looks like a radiator with cooling element fins) stopped working for some reason after i pulled the motor to go stage 3 last week... i'm also having some issues with my Electric Fan Kit (EFK) being turned ON the whole time the car is running (or key is in ON position without ignition on)...

can you take some pictures of the control module and post it up? just want to know what i'm looking for before i tear open the front end...
also can you take some pics of the wires for those fans as well?

    hope you sort everything out...

also if it is not getting power check the fuse under the dash. I think it is a small 40A blade fuse.
