Wax recommendations for brand new car
I will be picking up my 2013 s4 in 10 days. I would like to give it a good protective waxing as soon as I pick it up. What products do you guys reocmmend? What should I stay away from?

So many great products out there...dozens at a minimum. You'll get lots of opinions, but FWIW, here's mine.
For protection, I always recommend a good sealant. On your color I'd probably use Blackfire Wet Diamond. Easy to use, excellent protection, and the finish will feel very slick and have lots of pop. If you want more gloss, you can always top with a good carnauba wax.
Congrats on the awesome new car.

I have my car sealed with Zaino 2-3 times a year. Super durable and looks fantastic, but the application process takes forever (which is why my detailer does it, not me). Einszett Glanz is also a good choice and can be applied and layered more quickly either by hand or with an orbital.

You could always use Opti-Coat and not have a worry ;) But personally the look Blackfire Wet Diamond and Menzerna Power Lock give are top notch and they last at least 3 months. For the winter pick up some Collinite IW845, crazy durable!

I've only tried the Menzerna PowerLock but really happy with it...actually has decent shine to it too. If I were to do something else, though, I would try the Opti-Coat stuff. If you flip through a few of Phil's new car prep posts on here, and some of the more recent ones, you will see he uses the Opti-Coat stuff a lot. (Please correct me if I am wrong Phil). Congrats on the car!

Agree with the sealer/wax combo. When I took delivery of my A7 a few weeks ago, I had the dealer detrash, wash-only, and vac the interior.
When I got it home, I washed with Dawn, inspected for swirls (there were none), and applied Griot's Paint Sealant. I ran out of time, so that was all the protection it got for a few weeks, but it felt slick and beaded nicely.
A couple weeks later I cleaned the seats and applied Leathermasters Protection cream to all the leather surfaces.
I finally got some time last weekend and applied Collinite 845, and I'm very pleased with the results.

I use Adams buttery wax on my car with excellent results. It goes on and off easily and lasts fairly long.
