This post will be mostly me blathering away trying to achieve enough posts to become entitled to post a want ad in the classifieds section. I need some interior parts and due to the age of my new acquisition, they're hard to come by.

So, here's some general discussion related to this particular sub-forum:

    1. Neat car. I can tell this old guy [the A4] will rope me in to purchasing a newer model sometime in the near future. I mean wow, what a comfortable ride coming from a 16 year old 200K+ mile car!
    2. 100% electronic interior is neat, but wow, they dont last. Anyone have tips on the thermostat/AC controls going out, and how to repair? My AC blows super cold but it's set at 75 degrees and can't be lowered because the down button doesn't work. the up button does, however. And being in Texas that down button is needed about 10 months out of the year.
    3. What's a fantastic online parts site? I've found a few, just curious what you got.
    4. Any cool links to factory service manuals? I know Bently publishing should have some. ...Bought one for my 09 Jetta TDi

    Junkyard for the interior parts.

Otherwise they will be millions of dollars at the dealer. Literally...millions. But *sometimes* random stuff goes on super-sale when they run closeouts of old stock. So it's always worth finding the part number and running it through ECS to get a current price (their website will give current pricing on all valid Audi/VW part numbers).

Tool for finding OEM part numbers (takes some skills to use, though):

I also have 96 2.8lQ with near 200k on it. For me it was kinda a freebie so I couln't refuse. Long story, short car's been in the family a while now still runs awesome and drives great! Even though it's an auto I've been managing right aroud 22mpg! I also read Craig's list quite often and was able to find a part I was looking for for cheap money as someone was parting a crashed A4. Could have bought more but didn't have much cash!
