correct me if im wrong... but when i disconnect the brake lines, won't all the fluid in the system come rushing out and thus emptying the master cylinder?? and if that happens, ill have to use vagcom to recycle the abs system, which i want to avoid.

how do i prevent the system from going bone dry after i unbolt the lines?

The master cylinder will not drain unless you push the brake pedal. However, there will be some leakage from the lines, and you will have to bleed your brakes well after the swap.

oooh.. i thought that releasing the pressure, by unhooking the lines, would just empty the cylinder immediately.

    thanks for your help!

Unless you just sit there and stare at it, not that much fluid will come out.

I just did my front lines last night and once you start loosing the nut on the hard line, fluid will start coming out so if your quick you can change them without loosing alot but if the hard line just sits there it will drip a fair bit of fluid. I had a small rubber bleed screw cap from my motorcycle that I put over the end of the hardline so stop the fluid flow so I could clean up and take my time lineing up the braided line in the holder.
