Would you rather: New RS5 or S6 if cost was the same?

As a brand manager for audi India i got the chance to drive the rs5 and v8 r8 for my job and i must say i loved the rs5. The butterfly valaves in the exhaust were awesome. When you had it in dynamic mode the exhaust would be louder. It definately does better than 4.6 seconds 0-60 though. I have only driven/seen rs5's in the s tronic i wonder if they come in manual. Anyways rs5>s6 only because i feel it will be a more rarer car than the s6. Both cars are priced around 65-75 somewhere between there.

Interesting thread. Both cars seem quite capable and im certainly intrigued by the TT V8, but Id have to lean towards the RS5. Just seems to be a bit more nimble and a bit more of a raw drivers car.

Two Questions:

1) Are you sure that the exhaust is valved? I would assume it would be the same speaker under the hood that the S4 has.

2) How do you not know that the RS5 doesn't come in a manual if you are the brand manager for Audi India?

Im not there anymore i moved back to the states. The exhaust does have valves in them you can see through the muffler. To answer the question about manual or auto, the two cars i ordered were in s tronic and it didnt give me an option for manual.

I wanted S7, then found it less capable to the S6...but still liked its looks. Spent time inside the 8, and bought the S8 for its interior, motor, efficiency, intimidating looks, and discretness on the road.

Congrats Lou, love the S8 but just too big and out of my price range. That to me is the ultimate car for the money though. Im just medium ballin with the S6. We should have our one and only S8 for the year at the end of October.

I haven't test drove the last 4 cars I have bought....a price you pay for bleeding edge. hehe. They are allways just released, and not on the lots yet. Get to custom order though.

The RS5 is heavier than an S6 btw. I would prefer the S7 because it the best of both. Coupe looks with 4 doors. The interior on the S6/7 is just way too sexy.

Its not in the configurator but we have the order guides for them.

dumb question, but you can order S's that arent necessarily on Audi.usa, etc? just not the specific RS's etc that specifically arent offered in the US?

Not a dumb question really. Unfortunately, we can only order vehicles that are allowed to be delivered to the United States and configured as such. The only thing there is leeway on is the colors for paint and leather if you want to pay extra.

OK, I'll give them the Honda Pilot and Subaru Forester, but the S8? Incarnated thru the picture of an A8? They're just looking for print space. I suspect that the S8 will be brute both in power and looks. But you know that.
