Design**

I was disappointed when I first took the phone out of the box because I didn't like the back of the phone - it looks cheap for a high-end phone (I'm referring to the camera and flash). The G S2 was designed better in that dept. I guess it shouldn't matter much because that is only the back of the phone. The rest of the phone looks pretty good and it feels very light in your hands. I think I remember reading somewhere that it actually weighs just a little more than the iPhone, but due to the materials and shape it gives off the impression that it's a lighter phone. The front of the phone now only uses three buttons; there is no more Search button. You now have Menu, Home and Return. The Home key now dominates the center with an enlarged Home key. Did I mention the phone is SLIM?

The phone only comes in blue or white.

Use**

Dual-core processor. 2GB RAM.

The phone is a pleasure to use, whether you're surfing the net or making a phone call. One thing that really stands out is its lightning speed! When using WiFi, everything is instantaneous! The 4G isn't as fast as WiFi, but is still significantly faster than my S2. One thing I have to get used to is the new keyboard it uses. This is because I no longer have the comma, for instance, on the main view keyboard - I have to access this by pressing the "Number" key to see punctuation along with numbers, when needed.

Another thing- the camera is lightning fast as well. I can take something like 3-4 pictures per second! Same 8 megapixel camera as the S2 and 1.9 megapixel for the front-facing one.

Features**

It has cool features that are now motion-detected. One of these is Smart Stay- this detects the motion in your eyes and it will not dim/turn off the screen because it can send it is in use. I'm sure it may not work perfectly if the lighting isn't great. Another feature is that it will automatically place a call when you are looking at someone's contact information just by swinging the phone to your ear.

I still haven't messed with everything, just been busy. I think I can also open all apps verbally - I need to look into this a little more. The phone has S-Voice, which is supposed to be kinda like Siri. I've use this a little and I think it's kinda weak; I just need to play with that some more.

Bottm line: The S3 will not disappoint if you're looking for a hard hitter.

I'm getting my SGS3 delivered today as well.

I have been charging my original Galaxy S for 2 hours and it went from 19% charge to 30%... It's hinting at me that it's time to retire.

I just updated my Galaxy SII from Gingerbread to ICS. Seems to be working well... I'm not a power user at all but I now have face unlock if I wanted to use it!! The text and graphics seem even better. Looking forward to what it does in terms of performance and battery life mostly.

Man GB is stable but sooo bland. Once my S 2 Skyrocket came in I flashed a ROM based on the ICS leak a couple months back.. so fresh.
Check out XDA, it's a pretty informative forum for everything android/modding. A lot of developers on there.

I was a huge android person before giving the iphone a try. i've had it 18 months which is the longest i've ever held onto a phone. I usually get a new one every few months. I want out of it. It has the simple user face that is nice.... but you can't attach a fucking picture to an email. you have to save the damn address, goto pictures, add it to an email that way. WTF? I also love that unless someone sends you their email address in its own text, you can't copy/paste it. hold down and it just emails them. paying someone on paypal mobile is more of a pain in the ass then its worth.

worthless for some of the easiest functions known in the phone world.

i will be going back here shortly.

EDIT--- my biggest complaint... it plays your text tone at full volume OVER your phone call so you cant hear someone for that length of time. You have to manually vibrate your phone during each phone call.

I have a white one on order, shipping 7/11 because verizon is a bag of dicks. Also, my dad used my upgrade to get my stepmom her third new phone in 12 months, so I was stuck paying full price for mine. Bummer. At least I got to keep my unlimited data plan.

Dood the S3 is so BAD ASS!!!

Only complaint is that it might not have the FM radio hardware in it.
Face unlock is so quick too!

OOOhh and it can friggin snap like 5 pics per second (either by tapping the shutter really fast or putting it in drive mode)

lol... agreed... when my work iphone played tones into my ear at full volume on a conference call i almost smashed it off the ground...lol I was like "??!?!?" haha. the inabillity to attach a photo was it... it's been dead on my desk forwarding calls for over 6 months.

I love my HTC Evo LTE... sick phone and i've always liked HTC's... face unlock sucks if you are laying down or at an odd angle... i had to dump it because i'm not always looking straight on (like unlocking during a meeting at table level to pull up something).... works great though.

I've been using swype on my Incredible for a little over a year now, maybe a year and a half. I get all retarded when I try to text on a different phone because I'm like OMG HOW DO KEYS WORK?!

If you prefer Swype then smart keyboard wont be for you because it can't Swype.

I like tap and auto-complete. The original keyboard on the S3 wasn't very good for me.

OP: AOKP is out for the Skyrocket now. I have it on my phone. Way better than the Samsung based ICS roms. Not really sure on the battery life with AOKP though, might just be because I am using it more.

I use SKY ICS on XDA. I'm pretty biased towards any other ROM. The dev Sean is already working with another guy on the Jellybean port and should be finished soon!

FedEx guy pulled a classic ninja delivery attempt on me. Was sitting at home all day, heard nothing, and checked tracking 15 minutes after a failed delivery attempt. Had to wade through Boston rush hour traffic to go pick it up, but it was totally worth it, this thing is awesome.

Yeah literally happens to me too. I am smarter now.. One time I was home and he brought up the mail (didn't even grab the package from his car and had a pickup slip already filled out) I opened the door on him and he's like "Oh I have a package for you, you're never home during the day so I assume you won't be" I'm like yup. This package can't wait until tomorrow. How about do your job and bring the package either way? JUST IN CASE I MAY BE HOME? lol.
