So my 2000 A4 avant has been in my wife's care for a couple years now. She has destroyed the AC lines on the bottom of the car a couple times. She keeps complaining the car is too low (it is lowered on sport springs and Bilsteins shocks). I find that strange because I never used to beat the bottom of the car off stuff. So I take it for a spin and the car is bouncing up and down all over the place like its driving on rubber balls...
So my guess is the dampeners are shot and I need to replace the shocks. They are about 7 years old and have 60K miles of fairly aggressive driving on them.
Does anyone have any ideas about my options to get another couple years out of this car before we get something new? Just a cheap ebay coilover set? Does anyone here actually have a set on their car?? I don't want to invest a lot of cash. Can't seem to find much in the used category for B5's anywhere.
