I need to do a couple of little things and had hoped to take better pictures but the weather has put paid to that today.

So here's a couple I took this morning.

Found out today that the whining noise that I've been passing off as supercharger whine to the uneducated is coming from a bearing in the lower pulley wheel on the supercharger belt. So technically I wasn't lying, it just wasn't the air making the noise. Now, has anyone had to go through replacing that before?
Also, my water pump is starting to fail, the belt that runs to it was wobbling at the pulley wheel up top. Time to get the aluminum one.

Do you a have a pic of the pulley you are talking about?

The “lower pulley” is the harmonic balancer/lower pulley. If you are getting “bearing noise” from that, then there is a much larger issue at hand. That is going to be the forward most Crank journal bearing (where the Crank passes through the engine block). If this is going bad, you are looking a complete engine tear down and rebuild. I am praying that is not the issue.

I used a hide a plate so I can just slide it under the bumper as I didn't like that of the side look either.

Grill looks great, TJ. As for the plate, I like it better off to the side than blocking the grill. A Hide-a-Plate is a great option as it can disappear when needed.
I am sure glad it is not required in Nevada (another reason for you to move out here).

is that the ECS grill? I have the same color combo as you do, and I always wondered how that grill would look.

    I feel your pain.

I prefer off centre to obscuring the grill but I still feel it's an eyesore.

I have a custom plate on order and I'm not sure if I just want to risk running with a back plate only when it arrives, I think I probably will.

I don't want to sling it on the dashboard as I'd feel compelled to wear a baseball cap backwards at the same time

You can find them on eBay, search for "hide a plate" there are both manual and electric operated versions. You have to screw then onto the bumper tho. Here's a pic of my car with it both folded down and up.

Thanks for that, I just found the electric on Amazon, did you go manual or electric?

    Certainly tidies the front up.

I went manual because it was less costly and as it's just a bracket didn't stick down as far since I'm lowered I need whatever clearance I can get.

I'm going to mull this one over a bit, because looking at your car, I am now undecided whether I wouldn't just mount lower down, i.e. when you have the plate on show, because I think it doesn't interfere too much with the grill when mounted at that level.

    Thanks again.

So that's good news??? I was thinking of replacing it with the water pump at the same time since that belt is starting to wobble too, which I've read is a sign it's starting to die.

Well, it’s good news as it is not the main crank bearing making noise. If you are going to be that deep into it, you may want to get a replacement lower pulley and replace it too (if you haven’t already done it. It WILL fail; it’s just a matter of when. A little investment now can save headache and $$ later.

Accidentally almost ripped the front bumper off and made it look good enough that I still drove it home 465 miles. :/

I gotta take care of some mechanical stuff before diving back into the other cosmetic stuff. The grill is a shitty ebay one that the previous owner installed and it obviously doesn't fit right with the gap at the top.
I'd like that rs6 mesh look, but obviously going to have to be a decent looking copy.
Now I need a fog light since that curb broke it, among the wiring harness and mounting bracket for the bumper. Wonder if I can do some tiny retro's in the fogs. Would be nice.
Gotta get around to the headlights as well. Oil leaks are #1 concern. Losing a qt per 800 miles. Valve cover and brake vacuum assembly i believe.

I'm hitting some mileage that the car is starting to let me know.

LOL. I heard the noise, knew what it was and stopped to inspect how bad it was. Promise it wasn't just for the photo. lol

I didn't want to move back forward and make it worse so once I got out and saw it was caught on the curb I knew going back forward was my only option. :(
