Im not a parent guys, so don't be so damn sensitive. If you have a speacial needs child no offense. It was just a reference to my car having a disability that can't be fixed. If you are hurt and you're deeply offended, I think Dr. Phil has a forum site too, so try to work out your feelings on it, and leave Audizine to people that are about cars, not PC bullshit.
    Thx

For the record, I don't have a special needs child but that fact doesn't give me free reign to passively condone such an insensitive statement. It's not called being PC, it's called being an asshole.

Stick to car talk because your jokes simply are not funny.

This trans mapping work- isn't it something deeply desired here in the C6 community? Also, how can a trans remap affect power output so considerably? If the tune is a success, this sounds like a big development. Hell, I might even drive to Phoenix if they could get that price down to 3 digits :)

On an AG6 the rev limiter & speed govenor are in the trans map. They said they could maybe get me launch control too. This place only does custom mapping, no market tunes at all.

Every market tune I've seen claims to remove the speed limiter. Also you're about to be running insane power if those numbers are accurate. Be careful and don't break your car

Usually does, but not on a AG6. I know from experience. As fast as my car is, it tops out electronically at 130mph. 😠

You are not correct, sir. My GAIC tune removed the limiter. I have done several 140+ runs.

Calling you out?? You post things that are not correct (GAIC dual pulley tune, Speed limiter, etc.) so all I am doing is making sure the information being put out is accurate.
You JUST installed your tune and it does take some time driving for the ECU to adapt to the new mappings. Being disappointed in the tune now is like being disappointed that the new pair of Jordan's you bought don't fit right. Give it some time to break in and then offer your review.
I am interested to see about this TCU tune you are talking about but I am skeptical. BTW, a transmission tune IS NOT going to increase your HP. The tranny does rob power as a function of driveline drag etc and you will not be able to tune this away. A tune will change shift points, TC lock up points, etc and change HOW the power is put down but wont change the amount.
In all the years I have been on this forum and all the research I have done, there has never been an instance where anyone has done it.
If you want to increase power beyond what you are getting from the remapping of the ECU, you need to get downpipes, remove the cats, decrease intake air temps etc.

I also suggest you look for another shop in your area that might be willing to look into the file you received from whatever place is doing this work. You paid for a pricey piece of software from Garrett and I'd imagine they will back up their product for you if it was installed incorrectly. Personally, I'd choose quality and longevity over raw WHP

I'll just leave my 2 cents.

I did a lot of reading on APR v GIAC and then asked the informed people on this forum.

GIAC does afford you more flexibility but in terms of output, nothing to choose between them.

I believe the limiter goes at stage 1 but I went stock to stage 2. And no limiter exists at that point. Yes, bed it in as SincityA6 suggests then review.

My final comment, if you feel comfortable with the terminology you used earlier and you see the broad range of feedback you got, I humbly submit instead of sounding off about people's sensitivity, you just man up and apologize or move along.

I can only speak from my own experience here fellas. I too went from stock to stage ll +pulley. I took it on a very hilly & curvy 300+ mile run last week. On a clean open straight away, 6th gear all the way open, i was doing 130mph at 3000rpm. I am just relaying whats going on with my car.

As a stock 3.0 I hit 130 about 3/4 of the way through 4th and then my limiter automatically shifts me to 5th then 6th and the fun is over.

So just an idea.... Whenever I want to drive aggressively, I turn off the ESP/ASR (press and hold ESP button for several seconds). I am wondering if this being active is causing your 130 limit.

Be interesting to know if that's something that has an impact.

I've not even thought to do that but I've already found I'm no longer limited.

I'm sure this is a red herring, but is Giac programmed to a specific fuel rating, I'm tuned to 93. I think that's one of the area's where Giac is more flexible even if end result is pretty much like for like, barring race octane?

GAIC has 4 modes; Valet, Stock, Pump (91/93 octane) and Race (100+ octane). I have given some serious thought to running a tank of Race gas (since was can get it locally) but at $7 a gallon, can't see parting with $140 to fill it up.

Weathertech semi-universal front mats, $70 from ECS Tuning. I was concerned that the tan would clash with my beige interior, and that the fitment would be off. Happy on both fronts- the snaps lined up perfectly and I think these are nicer looking than the custom laser cut mats. Recommended! They come in black and grey too.

How about putting some Ethanol to pump up the octane rating? 1/4 tank of 91 gas with equal amounts of Ethanol (113 Octane) should get you up to 107 Octane.

BTW, today, I chatted up Amazon after finding that they have a new spoiler piece available (Now $170). They are going to send it to me and I will send my old one back in the box. I just have to wait a month or so. Looks like Stormy will still be the only ride with OE front and rear spoilers in the US for the summer.

No luck on the AG6 remap guys. The tuning shop could even find a baseline software for this trans to even start to tweak. So, for now, it looks like we are stuck under the AG6 anchor for a while longer.
