Yea very straight forward but requires patience and a steady amount of pressure to release all the clips. I broke one when taking the first cap and learned my lesson before doing the second. They're the type of clip that feels like you're going to snap the part right in half trying to take it off, but then right before you do the clip gives first.
Also, I found it not necessary to remove the mirror glass from the wires that control the auto dimming feature and instead just snaked it out of the opening in the cap. The connections are very VERY fragile and I knew those would break if I tried removing them and I didn't want to have to but a new heated mirror too so I left it on. Just be careful and rest it on the edge of the door with the window rolled down.
