    Hatch problems

    Hey guys,

I did a little search and I found nothing..

My rear hatch will not open on warm days and will only open on some cold. I can use both the keyless or the actual handle on door. I can hear the machine working, but it won't release to open. Anyone know what could be wrong or have experienced this before?

    Thanks

I also have problems with my hatch latch. Right after having driven it I can open it, but if I close it then try to re-open it is a no-go. Same as you I can hear the mechanism moving but the latch wont release. My plan is just to replace the latch mechanism and hope for the best.

This has happened to me a couple of times. What's the fix?

I have no answer, but that's very strange. Perhaps the mechanism is being a girl and doesn't like the cold? Maybe you should rub your warm feet on it?

I will take a look at it on my weekend. It's pretty frusturating. Hopefully it's just something sticking that will be a cheap fix. I'll let you guys know if I can find the "cure".

I had the same problem, I replaced the actuator that pulls the latch. Now it works great. You can open your hatch from the inside through the hazard triangle door, just pull the red chord. The actuator is located inside the hatch door panel.

Mine started having this issue yesterday. When I eventually got it open, I noticed the tailgate lock mechanism was stuck, not moving freely. After nudging it a bit, I closed the hatch; it has refused to open since then :banghead:. Question: is there a manual release lever (to pull) after removing the top/bottom trims? My hazard triangle door doesn't have a red cord.

...yeah I learned not to mess with the latch part. When I did I wasn't able to get it open for quite awhile.

Sometimes locking and unlocking the door helps it to let the hatch open. Other times going and driving the car for a short bit will do the trick. It is frustrating as hell sometimes though

If only I can successfully remove the trim. I followed that DIY, took out the screws at the hazard door and the grip ...the trim wont even budge when pulled at the edges , and I dont want to risk breaking it. Will take it for a spin and hope it opens...I have a can of WD40 for the latch.
