Lowered 3.2 V6 owners... help me out

Does anyone on the forum have lowering springs on their 3.2 that are the same as the one for the 2.0s? I have heard mixed opinions. From what I understand is that we need springs that have a different spring rate because of the added weight. I have a set ordered but they are the set intended for the 2.0. Just was curious if anyone on here had any insight on this... thanks in advance.

Interesting... never even considered this, I assumed factory springs were the same in the 2.0 and the 3.2

Theyre different between the 2.0t, 3.2 and S4. Basically because of the weight differences. Same deal with the b6 platform.

    Quattro MT 2.0T = 1554kg
    Quattro Tip 3.2 = 1690kg
    Quattro MT 3.2 = 1659kg

A weight difference of over 100kg will sag the front end.
Long story short - yes, a different spring rating would definitely be needed. Silver lining is - although it is 100kg, its only about 7% heavier... so I would say an additional 7% sag.

Which springs did you get? Whats the lowering amount? For a rough estimate of how much it will sag, add 7% to what they say.

These are all VERY rough estimates tho... I cannot comment on the performance losses from using a squishier spring than designed.
