DV Gone Bad? FIXED : It was the DV that failed

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi,

Before even creating this thread, yes I searched the B7 section already for anything with diverter valve, failed dv, and other key words. I just want to reach out to the members and get some help on answering my concerns.

Diverter Valve Revision D 06H-145-710-D whether from Audi/VW fixed the boost loss issue. Car is Performing As Usual Now!!!
    Cliff Notes:
-CPO PCV Valve replaced+Fuel filter=helped alot with engine jerking and slipping of the Tiptronic Tranny when cold
    -Audi A4 2008 TIPTRONIC
    -APR Stage 2 flash
    -034 HFC
-NO BOOST GUAGE yet...PODI soon(Its coming!)

    Now, here what happens:

    -Lag when starting from standing
-I hear a hissing noise (with my windows up and fan to off) when gassing it
-NO CEL YET...just discovered the problem yesterday and about to pick up a new DV revision D from VW/Audi

Any ways to know for sure that the culprit is the DV? I don't have vag com yet.

I appreciate any help, and the ones, wanting to say 'Search'....I have tried that too but didn't find any SATISFYING ANSWERS.

    Thanks,

    Pat

    New pics added.

    ST2 with no boost gauge?

    Busted DV = no power.
If you step on the gas, and don't go anywhere fast - replace it. It is a cheap enough part that it should be your #1 starting point.

If your DV is busted then all your charged air vents directly to atmosphere... so your car will act like a 2.0 naturally aspirated car - which are slow as shit.

You'll definitely know when your DV is busted. It'll feel like the balls have been ripped right off from under your car.

Mine made a fluttering sound when coming off boost and surged a little. But,it didn't lose much if anything from peak boost and doesn't look like the torn ones we usually see. I'll post pics when I get a chance

    That'll be awesome.

My car still boost, but there's major lag before it pulls...not like before and I heard a few times the hissing noise.

I hope its the DV and not the Tiptronic going lol

I took a video this morning of, what I *think* is a bad DV valve sound. It only does it after I lift my foot off the gas. Power seems normal.

    Thoughts?

    Best to listen with headphones.

oh well then if you have the old one, i would say it is shot....they don't last long after a stage 1 flash....coincidentally, the part that breaks on the DV....the orange membrane, looks like the same stuff that the old PCV valve is made out of when that breaks

Yah, sounds busted actually...I mean all our cars do this (let of boost pressure when no longer accelerating) but it seems to happen instantly when you let off the gas...Mine holds it for at least 1-2 seconds.

1-2 seconds..... if those are accurate numbers then YOUR car has problems.... 1-2 seconds is not normal.

Ok, maybe not THAT long but my car holds boost for at least a second after accelerating before letting it go...

It's not because that you don't see a tear in the rubber diaphragm that the DV is still good. My original unit has no sign of tear and still leaked boost.
