    A7 Front Grill Filler Panel

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
We just picked up an A7 Prestige over the weekend and it has the front plate panel on it. We don't require a front plate in our state and I want to get the front filler panel. Anyone did the swap how hard is it and how much for the panel.

I've had to do several. It's a PITA and if you're not careful you can break off the clips that hold it in the grill. Here's the part # you need 4G8-807-287-A-T94. You may want to get a tech at the dealer to do it.

The clips are tough and not much room to work with... however it DRAMATICALLY changes the front end of the car. You can always remove the plate bracket itself but you'll be stuck with the holes that were drilled to hold the plate bracket.

We do carry the filler for the A7 and they are in stock...

    Front Plate Filler (A7)

New OEM US license plate filler for the A7 with park steer assist and park distance control. Plate filler replaces the section of the front grille that holds the front license plate with a section that is not made for a plate and dramatically improves the look of the front end of the vehicle.

My first post. Am waiting on my new A7 right now, and while I live in a state where front and rear plates are required, I asked my dealer to ensure that the front plate panel was not installed. He agreed and spec'ed the order that way. I would rather get the occasional ticket than spoil the lines of this gorgeous car.

I'm slightly confused by the filler piece which is available...i find that I am also a victim of a car with a front plate holder, living in a state which doesn't require a front plate. I want to remove the plate holder and use the filler which you provided a link for. Does the filler have chrome strips to "fill in" and make the front grille complete, or is it just black plastic which still shows a blank space? Clicking on the link with the resulting image doesn't show the chrome look....
Also, does the piece provide any installation instructions, even though it's described as being a PITA to install? Amplifying info would be appreciated!!
    Thanks!

Props to Europaparts. I am looking at getting an A7 in a state that requires front plates but mine doesn't. They bought the filler plate from europa and did the install for me. They charged me $300 for the filler and ate the labor. Car now looks proper.
