Trunk Latch Replacement Sensor going whacko

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I changed up my trunk latch to the newer version ones because mine kept failing due to the cold.
After I changed it up, the sensor keeps saying the trunk is unlocked, but its clearly locked.

I just tried to re-connect the sensor cable but still doesn't work.
    WHATS GOING ON?!

UPDATE: fix it. took the latch apart and swapped the sensors.
now it works like a charm.
I also noticed white fluid/oil/grease in the new latch, and dried up residue what seemed to use to have the white fluid/oil/grease.
It's also in the lock mechanism itself, perhaps the cause for the trunk latch problem is that it dried up?!

It is possible you got a bad latch. I would take it back and exchange it for another.

Mine does this. It was replaced, and it does it when I don't slam it closed. It clearly is closed, but the senor says it is open. So I open and close it, and it is fine.

the thing is, i tried unlocking, and locking, probably fifty times with the new latch. so nothing

decided to take it apart and swap the sensor/motor.
    update: fixed.
