FINALLY got my car! I wanted black/black and started off wanting 6MT but gave up on most of all that. Ended up with a black/grey with nav/backup cam/and the LED lights I love :)
Drove to NC which is where my dad lives so it wasn't bad at all.

It has the light color wood inside which I hate. Sorry but i'm going to PlastiDip it and see how it looks. I have a lot of plans for this thing over the next week or so.. I'll be sure to post updates. I just can't tint the windows like I want them until Sept. :(

Took me a while to figure out how to make the MMI call who I wanted it to. Got tired of hearing "pardon". lol And I don't have any damn floor mats :( Anyone know a good place to get some? I'm wanting black so i'm not constantly cleaning 'em.

but here she is. Planning to get more pics later with the boyfriend's A6 so we can show people the differences in the cars. Have yet to have ONE person see that mine is a lot different than his (he has a '05 black/black A6)

Congrats! Looks good and looking forward to seeing both cars together. Haha on the "pardon" deal, I hate that. Just wait until it thinks you want an explination and it spends 3 minutes telling you what you can say.

Plastidip on the inside should look good...may want to check out fonzie's site, dipyourcar.com, or the plasti dip threads on here. He is a sponsor and was/is helpful. I cant remember who did some painting on the trim on here, but it looks really good the way it was done.

Also, if you are looking into getting the audi all weather mats, check genuineaudiparts.com, they are much cheaper than most dealers and the audicollection site.

I had weathertecs in my Tacoma and liked them.. but not sure I want them in the car. I'll think about it....

Dealership wasn't budging on the price and it was the lowest price for so many options. It didn't even have a Navigation DVD in it lol but they are sending me that. Car was in excellent condition with the exception of smelling like a stale rag or something horrible. Thankfully the b/f had extra new air fresheners that go in the air vents for me. Today I cleaned the entire interior again and it smells much much better :) It seems no one who works at a dealer can clean a car worth a crap. I mean I'm glad they waxed it!! but they could have maybe avoided the plastic pieces.... oh well ;)

Today I took the dealer stickers and badges off her butt..

And wrestled with the PlastiDip... i'm going to re-do the door panels.. taping off the silver didn't work well. Spraying the entire thing and running a razor blade in the gap between the two and pealing it off the silver worked MUCH better.

I like it... I know the one on the dash is washed out by the sun.. but you get the point. I hate wood interior but had to give on a few things to get a car I liked/wanted in my price range.

I'm willing to bet the guys who detailed it before I got there used an old rag.. or something like that.. there were streaks on the silver spots..
The sales guy said he drove it a few days before i put the deposit down (grr lol) and he said he loved it. I think he would have done something if it had the smell then. He was very helpful and all. He knew I was picky.

I wasn't sure about the black with my interior but figured it was worth a shot. Actually when I first started putting it back together I thought I didn't like it. Once it was all in I smiled. I'm happy with it!

well that make a lot more sense then haha, and of course he "loved it" but if you put the gloss on your trim pieces to match the gloss on all of the dash and the buttons it might give a little more contrast, and a little more OEM

I do have clear coat but i'm not going to take that center piece off again.... ever.... lol

Why in the hell do floor mats cost so much?! The ones I put in there are the rears from the b/f's old A4 - too big for my rear ;) so I used them up front for now. Looks like it'll be longer than expected use.. I rather buy other things than floor mats at the moment...

Welcome aboard and excellent color choice!

    Nice job on the plastidip....
I am not even brave enough to remove the trim around the shifter....

Maybe blackout or remove the ambers in the headlights next?

looking good, i have a black 09 too, but luckily found a black on black one. the plastidip on the trim pieces look good, i'd do the gloss black for the rest of the pieces and then that center piece instead of taking it off just do a gloss black over that while its on so itll match the side pieces and looks better than the plain plastic black it is now.

im scared to bake open the headlights too, but check this thread

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ht=amber+vinyl

quick easy way to just either black out or have a smoked tint on the ambers, using vinyls. better than nothing and doesnt look too bad IMO, im planning on doing this as well

Hmm not sure I really like that. I may try the heat gun to the headlights and just take them apart. I baked my STi's headlights and that was a bit of a pain.. heat gun may work better. We have to take the A6's apart too since one of his high beams isn't working...

Whenever I have another day off i'm planning to take the grill off and painting it with the plasti dip so I may do the headlights then too. Depends how brave I feel. I guess if worst comes to worst I just seal them up better if all else fails..

Plasti Dipped the front grill. Taking off the bumper wasn't "hard" but not so fun... especially with a migraine. Went back on easier since the b/f came home from work just in time to help with that process.

I was looking at the headlights.. thinking hard about taking them apart... but honestly the reflectors don't show all that much on the black. I think i'm ok with them how they are.

Once I get more painters tape and figure out some way to keep the paint from getting on the interior i'll be plasti dipping the chrome around the windows as well.

Then I wait until next month when I have the money for my wheels :)

Oh yea - was pleased to find the Euro mounting plate under the US one! And even more pleased when the plate the b/f bought for his A6 (was too long for the plate holder he bought) fit just fine on mine! hah :)

One wheel has a gash in it from installation. Waiting on the company to buy me a new one :( they also can't seem to figure out why the right front wont keep air. REALLY hoping they fixed it this go around. It's been a bit of a headache but she's coming along!

Nothing else will be done until Sept :( then first thing will be coilovers!

Nice car! What was the MSRP if you don't mind me asking. I just got mine about a month ago but it doesn't have as many features as yours. I still love it though. So that plastidip can be used on trim? I've never used it before. Also are you getting 19's on the wheels? I'm still deciding because currently the ride quality is good.

M746 dynamic performance wheels. Found them on eBay and fell in love. Been working with VIP Wheels and they've been insanely helpful and quick to respond.

Bought the car for $24k with 51k miles on 'er. It was the cheapest of what I wanted when I was looking. Well cheapest that wasn't 10+ hours away.

Yup they are 19s and I think it's the perfect size. It'll look even better with suspension.

Very nice stuff! I wonder what your favorite color is?

The wheels will definitely look better with a drop. I bet you can't wait until September for coil-overs.

As an alternative to Plastidip for your bright trim around the windows, check this out. I think I read about it here. You can do a nice gloss black over the trim. That would look great and less messy than Plastidip.

Thats not a bad price, I got a 2012 Monsoon Grey one. I didn't know the price would drop that much being that it was used. I'm going to try that company you mentioned for wheels too. My ride was about 9k more than yours but thats because i'm the first owner. I can't wait to get some better wheels too, I'll check VIP as well I don't want to spend a arm and a leg on something that isn't that important later but just need it for looks. Thanks for answering that question.

So the 4 wheels that your car rides on aren't that important? This puzzles and worries me.

im pretty sure he means wheels not tires. he means upgrading from 17s to 19s isnt important, just to have bigger nicer wheels. not like 'my wheels are messed up but ill replace em later' lol.

My question was "So the 4 wheels ..." so I obviously understood he was speaking about wheel not tires.
I just don't understand the logic behind it. Being as though the wheel/tires are one of the most important aspects when it comes to both safety and performance.

I wasn't speakin on what you said directly. Just a comment on shit that goes down day to day in AZ world

I just don't understand the logic behind it. Being as though the wheel/tires are one of the most important aspects when it comes to both safety and performance.
i understand, but are you still confused on what he meant? it might've come off as 'my 4 wheels' arent important, but he said

"I can't wait to get some better wheels too, I'll check VIP as well I don't want to spend a arm and a leg on something that isn't that important later but just need it for looks."

you did even bold the part where he said just for looks, so i thought you'd see he meant upgraded wheels arent important for him at the moment, not wheels themselves arent important.

lumping it in again. Tires are important, yes.
you do not need to splurge extra money for aftermarket wheels to keep your vehicle in safe operating condition.

    No lumping was done.
You don't have to spend 5k on wheel but you do need to be aware of certain manufacturers low standards.
