    09 A4 Premium Sport vs 10 A4 Premium Plus S-line

Guys, I could really use some help on deciding which one I should buy. There are about 6K difference. Here is a break down of 2 the cars.

    2009 Premium Black(75km)
    -Sport packaged
    -APR chipped
    -6speed

    2010 Premium + Sline Silver (55km)
-LED tails (which I would eventually want if I buy the 09)
    -6speed

Any insights of opinions would be appreciated.

If you can comfortably afford the 2010 I'd go that route. 2009 w/ sport pkg. is what I have, and I love it. But there were a few minor updates between the 09 and 10's with suspension components and ECU, etc. I'd personally go for the lower miles, newer car, etc...

Just debated this myself, and ended up going with a 2010. Don't regret it. :)

The improvements make on 10 are minor, but they do make a difference. The dumbo mirrors on the 09s look ridiculous.

the 2010 looks like the better option all around, if you have no problem affording the 6k difference

if the price isn't an issue then definitely the 2010. it's a premium+ which already gives it the edge, you get a lot of the options, minor but convenient. you get the HID/LED headlights as well and the s-line package will also have the sports suspension anyway i assume. only thing you'd be missing is the APR tune but you can get that anyway. and then you won't have to worry about upgrading your halogens head and tail lights, getting any exterior s-line features, etc. price might end up almost balancing out anyway.

ha I was just recently in the opposite predicament. 2009 p+ vs 2010 p w/sports package (about same price though). Ended up choosing the newer, lower mile 2010 p w/sports package. Didn't get the nice head/tail lights or dual climate, but I'm very happy with the decision.

For you, def the 2010 if you can handle the 6 k. Nothing like saving money, then regretting not going with the better option, then spending the money (or most likely more) in the long run.

Thanks for the input guys. I guess it comes down to if its worth the 6k difference. Would I use that 6K for mods or spend 6K for better factory options? Is it worth it rather than affordability. If I were to go 09 route, I would eventually have to get to LED ($500) tails anyways. 2010 I would have to get a APR chip ($599). The way that I see it, the Sline is basically a better version of the sport package. The 2010 would have an extra year of warranty left. In terms of the resell value, would the S-line have a higher resale value since it's more rare? What else am i missing?

Having just bought a Premium Black '09 with no sport package...I'd say go for the cheaper one. Its easy to fixate on what you don't have, but the bottom line is that my car is much better than the '08 B7 s-line that I had previously. Its all relative to what you were driving before IMO.

(Having said that, I do miss my trip computer more than anything I hate to admit)

I have to agree with EasyMFe, $6,000 is a pretty big difference, even if you can afford it. I would go with the 09. How long do you keep cars might be something to consider. The 09 is chipped so thats one less thing you need to do on the 09. Tailights not a big deal and yes the subtle changes from 09 to 10 are nice but by the time you add the mods you want, likely you are reducing the differences pretty quickly. In my opinion, does the 2010 have anything specific that you really like that is too costly or too time consuming to add to the 09? Like does the 09 have Premium Sound Audi Symphony but you want the upgrade? If nothing major like that, then go 09. I have an 09 Premium and looked at 2010 and 2011 Premium Plus. Spending the additional money wasnt a problem at all but I considered what I wanted to do to the cars regardless of which I bought. I just felt better about spending it on a car that was a little older with about the same miles. I wanted the best sound system since my 2010 A6 3.0 Premium Plus has the Harmon Kardon and I love it but after I heard the Audi Symphony, I was amazed at the sound of Audi Symphony for not being the the top. It is so much better than the standard so mission accomplished.

EasyMFe, you can get the trip computer, limited functions turned on if you go to someone with a VagCom. A local tuner here in So Cal, will do it complimentary. I cant recall what all functions it adds but its just in the programming.

Yeah Im leaning the 09 at the moment, I guess the biggest difference between 09 and 10 is the Sline package .. the Alacantra seats are a nice touch. I would likely do the same mods on both cars anyways. Thanks for the input guys :) I forgot to mention the 09 is in the west coast and 10 is in the east coast ... They salt the roads like no tomorrow and cars seem to rust alot faster (even though Audi covers their paint for 12 years, just a pain the in the ass to get it done)

Here was my thought process when I bought my '10 Prestige/S-Line... It's better to have it and not need/want it than it is to need/want it but not have it...
