She's getting old...
So my car just hit 50,000 miles the other day, and i need to talk about it. Lol. I had my car since brand new in 2007. She feels so old now. I feel like my car is starting to get outdated. She never gave me any real problems so far, I know she won't stay that way forever. I wash her (mostly) every Saturday and try to keep the interior clean (I hate when my wife leaves receipts and trash inside). I still love my car and still look back at her as I'm walking away from parking. I recently picked up a MKVI GTI and it has all kinds of new features. It feels sportier and faster even though it's stock and my B7 is tuned. But at the end of the day the B7 is still my baby. Especially since it was my first brand new car.
How do you feel about your B7?

I got my B7 brand new in 2007 as well and has 80,000 miles with no problems other than the timing belt, which I got Audi to replace for free :) ... You think your car is old; what i would do to have my car back at 50,000 miles again :P

Bought mine brand new as an 07...
97,000 miles as of today.
Last week, no problems.
This week I've had the following problems:
4 coil packs gone bad
4 spark plugs gone bad
p000A fault code
Headlight bulbs gone bad.
Still determining what the p000A fault code may be.
On a happier note, I love my car and am willing to spend the money needed to bring her back to normal :D

Would love to have 97,000 on my 07 lol
The dealer called it an "07.5" the other day.. I was curious to what the hell they meant lol

Hop into a B5 with 180,000 miles and drive that around for a while, then go drive the B7, your opinion might change

I still do the same, and love my car. Mind you I've only had my 07' for a year and change and my previous car was an 86' 4000 so this is about as new a car as I'll ever own!

50k is old? Besides, even when it was new, the b7 wasn't exactly a powerhouse. the gti is a great car though, no question there.
newer cars tend to be flashier and have cool features and all that, but the build quality just seems to get worse and worse the newer the car, so they become increasingly more disposable. don't get me wrong, new things are fun and all, but the "newer = better" mentality is a trap, and only serves to empty your wallet without actually being any more satisfied with your new belongings.
frankly, i hate new cars. the new-factor is an illusion that rarely lasts more than a few thousand miles, at which point you actually start to see how well built a car actually is.
my advice, learn to love character. empty features and sterile newness do not compare to the satisfaction of driving a car with soul.

I have to say I'm in a very similar boat.
I bought my car on July 4th 2008 brand new. She now has 60k miles on her. I still love the car because it was the first new car that I was able to purchase. It has a bit of an emotional attachment for me, but I'm just starting to get a little bored with it.
There are days when I want to keep the car forever, then there are others days when I just want to sell it and get a new car.

It's my first brand new car and it's been almost 5 years...it's crazy how time can fly. I'm not complaining about my car, just wanted to share. I felt I needed to share this. My wife doesn't care for cars so only other place to share is here. Lol. I do plan on keeping my B7 forever though.

i bought my 06 a4 (i call her Becky) with 54k on it a week before my birthday in 2010. my girlfriend is jealous of her because i spend so much time with her and say the sweetest things to her. haha. like usually when i park at a store or what have you, i turn to her and say "okay becky, you just sit there and look pretty, i'll be back soon." and EVERY time i get in my car and start to drive i think to myself "God! i love my car." i've had absolutely no problems with my car and since she now has 85k on her im gonna be taking off the intake manifold in may to clean the valves and check on my cam follower just before SOWO.

Fair enough. Mine just hit 51k, so I'm right there with you. I did not buy mine new though, so it's still "new" to me I guess. I love my car and want to keep it as long as humanly possible.

Bought mine brand new in 07 and drove it off the lot with just 6 miles on the speedometer....today, I just hit 80k miles and I still love my B7 just as much as the first day I got her People still turn their heads when I pass and I still get the compliments...I agree that newer doesn't always mean better.

Had my car for 4 years now, put 80,000km on it. Love it like the day I bought it, drive it like she's meant to be driven, and pamper her.
She will be with my for many years. Might not be my only car afterwards, but she will proudly sit beside whatever else I buy.
My B7 will never leave me until I am forced to let go. I love her more than any other physical possession I have.

Mines at 78k miles and an 07! I bought it about 18 months ago with 44.5k miles.
I do understand what every says about getting bored and selling it. Since mine has had two accidents and a big ass scratch on the roof, my resell has gone to shit.

I bought my 05.5 last August with 105k miles - I just rolled over 117k the other day, and I own a truck and another car (that my stepson drives - and hope he buys it off me!)
I'll have the Audi for quite awhile, especially if I swap over to diesel like I'm hoping!

This times a million. Cars are not what they used to be. I really wish VW/AUDI did not follow the trend of other car companies and slack on build quality and make their cars more disopable like mentioned. I'm at 84k and I plan to keep it for a long time.

My car just turned 108K. I bought her new in May '08 and she's been meticulously maintained. I have also gotten the P000A code twice within the last two months. Both times the CEL illuminated, then went away within 24 hours, before I was even able to clear it. I had the code pulled, but am not sure wtf "camshaft position slow response" means exactly. I believe its referring to the intake cam, but I'm just unsure as to what it means. Is this a hardware issue, or a sensor issue. The car is running like a top. Dealer doesn't seem to have a clue either.

My A4 was bought new in Feb 2008 and I'm right there with ya'. Four and half years later, only 30000 miles, not a single problem, yet I've still grown bored with it and am looking to upgrade this summer. As strange as it sounds, I can also agree with this;

There's nothing new in the market that interests me (within my price range), and it doesn't look like there will be for at least another couple years. Maybe in 4 years when/if we get the RS3 I'll start looking at a new car again. As it stands now, I'm looking at a B7 S4 for the upgrade later this year, B7 RS4 or C63 if some investments pan out.

I've always had no less than 2 car since 2005, so the Audi is not the only one that gets driven. I just traded in my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab for the 2010 GTI since I was using the truck less and less, since gas is so expensive here. I guess having more than one car helped save the mileage a lot.

I hate being cheap, but I hate spending money more HAHAHA, maybe theres a group I can meet with not shopaholics, but the opposite lol. Just cracked 63k on my 07. Bought it with 33k in October 2010. I've racked up the miles, and loved every one of them. Looking forward to the many great years to come with this car. I'm not planning on selling it, ever. Actually, I'm planning on picking up another vehicle before this one hits 100k and making this my weekend/project car.

I feel you man...I don't have many miles (63k) but I have had the car for coming up on 6 years now and I am getting bored. It still looks great and runs great, I guess I just did everything I wanted to do with it. It's funny that I make over twice as much now as when I bought it and I can't fathom spending the money to go BT or something like that. Maybe I will do some minor stuff this spring to pique my interest again..otherwise I will keep it as is for a while and pick up a B8 S4 sometime down the road.
