    How do the resonated downpipes compare to stock in terms of sound and performance on a Manual 6 speed?

    Lol AWE is air and water enterprises for air-cooled vw or water cooled vw. Thus waterfest, H2O, etc. Just saying I've never seen a beetle or bus with a AWE logo on it...I'm sure someone here can prove me wrong.

    Just installed mine on Friday! Love it! BUT I'm getting quite a bit of drone at highway speeds. Dealer said that if this happened then I should come back and have something "shimmey'd" because the fit is so tight that it could cause drone...

    Does this sounds strange? I've got a 6MT with stock DP's...

    I thought the "air" was for the air cooled Porsche's they make stuff for.

    Install is 1 hour. My friend who also has one on his B8 S4 told me the drone would go away after about 1k once the exhaust is broken in. Said it sounds completely different once it's broken in. So I'll wait and let you guys know if that is the case.

    Resonated downpipes for me are a must unless you like a louder system. The AWE system if your a DSG (which your clearly not) are even more crucial but the resonators eliminate much of the unwanted cabin noise.

    As far as performance, its not a huge gain as the factory DP's are pretty non-restrictive themselves but a few HP gain is there... Nothing crazy that you would notice...

    Depends on if you get DP's or not. With downpipes it takes about 3 hours to make sure the tips are lined up and all gaps clear properly.
