What are the most creative or unique mods you have done/thinking about doing?
Thought this could potentially be a neat thread. Curious to see what little/simple or creative/unique mods you all have done. Anyone have something they are thinking about doing or wanting to do?
I think I have seen a couple of creative things with cup holders, door key covers, etc.
I have been thinking for a while on how to make a middle visor (pretty sure my b5 had one?) that would fit between the driver and passenger sun visors. Thoughts?

I'd say DavidB8 is the king of creative mods. But I do like your idea of a middle visor. Sometimes the sun hits you right through the crack and it totally bothers me.

I was wondering how easy it would be to more or less mimic an S4 set up with a little more displacement for you v6 guys...

Too funny! I've been trying the same thing! Almost bought that Tornado or Cyclone fan deal! I once dated a girl that could probably provide enough boost - now where to put her, under the hood or in the passenger seat with a garden hose to the intake???

I've been trying to find a way to get a 2-tone S4 type leather. I currently have all black interior, but trying to find a way to 2-tone the seats and make the leather panels on the doors red, not sure if using leather paint or something is a good idea? or any suggestions that won't be too expensive, just a quick mod

ahh yeah i also plan to get some type of tablet mount, dont wanna do a windshield one though, thinking of the flexible arm ones that bolt to the side of the passenger seat and then you can mount a tablet on there and even flex/move it around too. also thinking of plastidipping my stock 17s with the silver/black metalizer to give it that gunmetal look, might even experiment with a 2 tone type gunmetal. lol i know stock 17s, but im just trying to make em look nicer until im set on what wheels to get, definitely gonna get some 19s

David b8 is the king of creative mods and the most helpful with any problems you may have with your car. He has helped me countless times and has given me some great suggestions and answers to many weird questions that nobody else could answer. He has a site, audienthusiast.com , maybe spelled it wrong lol
I went huge turbo with my car and I love every single second driving this beast. Beating cars that are 20k+ more expensive with my little 2.0 is definitely the greatest feeling. Even left the 2.0 emblem on and when they pull up they think it's an s4 and when I tell them a4 they are all in shock. First time I brought it to dealership every salesman went outside to check it out. Great stuff

Just found this thread.
I've been thinking of messing around with a little project over my summer break. I am planning on taking off the factory plastic covers underneight the engine/chassis and do a custom sheet metal / SS skid plate. Maybe even a few vents, spend some time on it and make it look nice.
Also thinking about heading up to my previous employer (where I still have many friends), and getting maybe a custom Alu Kreuz made from just a blank 3/8in steel sheet. Drill some holes and bam. (previous employer was machine shop / weld shop / assembly ,etc etc). It wouldn't be a problem at all with a 12ft"x12ft" burn table.
Anyone with a factory brace they would like to send me?

This thread seems awesome and I look forward to seeing it grow/expand over time for sure! I have a B7 A4, and I currently have the entire interior removed to install speakers/sound deadening. I have seen a very awesome mod done to have the Valentine-One External Display hidden within the rear view mirror. I can post the link to that thread if anyone is really interested. I think its an awesome mod and might give that a shot myself.
I was also bouncing around some ideas in my head, maybe to have some LED accent lighting for the interior. A friend of mine had a nice Cadillac CTS and I thought the interior LED accent lighting in that car was very tasteful. They look good and the help keep the footwells and door handles lit in dark conditions. Except I would want my LED's connected to a button. This button would toggle a feature - which would of course be an on/off switch for hidden beat-detecting microphone that allows the led's to flicker with the music or change colors etc. This system would likely have a remote control, to adjust things such as brightness, colors, and sensitivity to music/ lighting behavior. It's something I've looked into and found some products that can pull off the job. They were cheap, and meant for bar or house applications, I would just have to figure out how to power something in my car thats meant for a wall outlet. Without using my cigarette lighter - I would be looking for something discreet of course.
Has anyone ever seen/heard of anything like this before? Let me know if you've got any ideas on how that can work. I think it would be a good reason to get a FUNK button and put it to some funky use :D
Optimistically, I'd like to have this figured out before I put the car back together.

inside as in which part? like the chrome/silver lines and stuff inside? i believe i've seen a black one on here, someone painted the silver and chrome pieces inside the light to black. but IMO it looks best as it is, doing it black is ok for the blacked out look, but the headlights dont look as nice once black, it takes away all that detail that the lights have, they look great as is IMO. otherwise it just looks like a dark headlight with the bulb/lens there. what you could do is make the flat silver areas like a glossy black, and then leave the edge lines chrome as is so the contrast is still there. but worth a try i would experiment with it and see, you could maybe just go for a darker gunmetal type shade or it might end up look nice with a glossy black.
as for carbon fiber, definitely no IMO, just doesnt fit inside a headlight haha, would look kinda awkward imo.

Yeah a tranny build would be nice to have. Not sure if Level 10 is the best place. A few of the B5 guys would swear by them but something happened and they lost favor among the forum. There is another company that is now getting a good rep with some quality built trannies. I'll have to search for their contact info.
Edit: Here are some helpful links (sorry for the slight de-rail):
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...0-for-the-Loss!
Some are now using IPT or 517 for building the tranny. Not sure if they've done much work with the B8's to be honest.
Great thread. Interested in seeing how this plays out. As for things I'm thinking of doing. I'd like to get the fog grills to match my RS4 grill. Going to buy some honey comb and DIY. Maybe add a chrome ring around the fog light...maybe delete the fog light all together?
