For those of you who run an euro-plate HOLDER

How the hell does the euro-plate actually mount?

I have a feeling I did it "right" but i'm not so sure now. I got the euro-plate holder, took off my us plate holder, and couldn't really figure out how the "holder" actually holds the plate, so I just snapped the holder to the grille, put the euro-plate behind it and screwed in the 4 T-20 screws. I know the plate wont' fall out but it doesn't seem to be "stable". Now my euro-plate isn't 100% brand new, it survived the tow from when my A4 was totaled but I don't think that plays such a huge role here.

If I put my hand on the euro-plate and push against it and try to slide it, it has some leeway to move around. Am I missing something here?

Felt tape behind euro-plate to give it more "push" against the holder?
Double side tape?

I used heavy duty Velcro that had tape adhesive on both sides. You can find it at Home Depot.

What kind of holder do you have? OEM or aftermarket? If it's OEM nothing should be need to hold it in place. My OEM one just held the plate in place all around the edges.

I suspected that's what it was. Oh well. Velcro it is!

The one I have is OEM as well it just seems like the bracket is needed to hold the actual plate. Makes sense. I mean it held in place just by sliding it in but i didn't want it possibly vibrating around or something. I used three Velcro strips. 2 on side vertically and one in middle horizontally. It holds fine now. My plate is all fucked up from the A4 though.

I used Zip Ties . I ordered my holder from ECS and did not come with that back plate either

I guess the cars in europe either get the extra piece when they get their plates or the dealers stock them or something. Who knows. Velcro or whatever else will work.
