Easiest way to post pics on any message board is to host them and link them.

Then after you download them there (quick & easy), just single click the [img] link and it will automatically copy it for you. Then just paste it in the thread where you want it and it will always be there.

I had earlier posted about an issue I noticed that my NAV screen was always stuck in night display. I wondered how this could be and the only logical explanation was that the VAG COM mod I performed which enables the low beams to run at all times with the DRL's must be the reason. Well, it was so I reversed the mod to factory setting and it works properly now. However I also noticed that whenever the fog lights are on it triggers the NAV map into night mode as well, which I don't like.

If you "wrap" the hyperlink in the IMG code it will display it on the page. There is an automatic copy built into photobucket (if you hover over the small thumbnail it is the bottom choice), or you can use the "Insert Image" button in the reply here on the board. Or you can simply write it ...

I also hate that running the fogs or turning on the headlights turns on Night Display on the NAV. It should run independently and only follow the dim sensor in the car.

I bought a load resistor to prevent errors. It's a little bit of a PITA to install, but doable. The output is impacted compared to the halogens, but I value the aesthetics of the fogs more than its functionality. It's still quite bright and I am very happy with end result.

Honestly, it does look pretty good with the LEDs in the fogs ;)

The install is what's keeping me from doing it... I'm still on the fence about LEDs or Hoens....

It's not that difficult with the load resistor purchased. I just had to make an adaptation however. If you go in from the wheel well you can access the area much better. The one adaptation I made b/c the load resistor instructions say that you need to mount the the resistor to metal b/c it gets very hot. Problem was the wiring isn't long enough to attach to the nearest metal object and reach the wiring harness or the fog light holder. So what I did was attach the load resistor to the harness and connect the LED bulb and place it into the fog light first. I then took the excess wiring and used zip ties and electrical tape to secure it to some wiring harness so that the metal load resistor would suspend itself in air and not come in contact with anything it could melt. It was all I could think of and so far it works. I have driven probably 200 miles with these LED's installed and I have had zero issues. I was having problems with the aftermarket halogens I had installed, the XZE bulbs by Sylvania I think. At times one of the fogs would turn on even when I had the fogs off. It was so strange b/c I would be at a red light an notice my cars reflection in the car in front of me and one of my fogs would be on. It would just kind of go on and off as it pleased. Anyway, barring anything unforeseen these will remain on my Q for the foreseeable future.

Never noticed that. I am actually in the process of ordering a complete LED swap of my landscaping lights and exterior lights of my house as well. The upfront expense is kind of high, but the energy savings should be great in the long run. Plus I like the clean white appearance that LED's give off much more than standard incandescent.
