My first and only car...
I´m bored, so why not make a post for my car?
Hopefully people will get to know me aaaalittle better then just username and random pictures here and there.
I will post my progress on the car up to today and continue with new mods and such...be patient, I got 3 years to write down :p
My name is Sindre, 22years old, live in Bergen (Norway) and owns a 2000" A4 b5 1,8tq Avant.
Its my first and only car so it has a lot of sentimental value to me. Don't think I will ever dare to sell it...I´m to attached, I guess.
In the 3 years I´ve had it so far it has been quite good to me, so far. Not much more than parts that normally wear :)
When I bought it, back in 2009, it had 129.000km on the counter, full leather sports seats, RS4 grill, RS4 spoiler, S4 steering wheel and was rolling on some 18" RS6 wheels.
All in all an alright looking car, but kinda boorish if you ask me.

Time didn't got long until I wanted more mods...first on the list was more lowering.
It already had some worn out 40/40mm lowering kit on it...ofcourse it wasn't enough :p
So 1 or 2 months later it sat on FK Silverline X adjustable.

The car had already some 8,5x18" ET35 RS6 wheels on it, but the wife (I guess) of the previous owner seemed pretty eager to ruin them at the street edges.
Needless to say, they were ALOT of marks on them.
Therefor I decided to go for some nicer wheels.
I remember searching for a long time and really wanted some Rial Daytona-wheels...but they never came in either the right size or bolt pattern. So as a temporary I went for some BBS LeMans interaction-replicas.
9x18" ET38
My nephew seemed pretty pleased tho :p

The facelift euro lights aint the best, neither the worst... but with some xenon-bulbs in there they really light up well.
5000k 35w at drivelights, 5000k 55w in the longbeams.
I also recieved my Hotchkis swaybar kit at that time.
35mm front and 22mm back, with supportbrackets in the rear.
The car was really like another car after installing it. Felt like a racecar-driver with that mod

After the summer I moved to Bergen to study photography further.
I still do, and got a couple of months left. January/February 2013 I will move to Australia and get myself a bachelor degree within photojournalism :)
While being a full-time student in Bergen I found my dream wheels, Rial Daytona Race 2splits.
They were in perfect fitment for the B5, 9,5x18" ET30 5x112.
Didn´t take long before I started splitting them and planning colors, polishing the lips and such...

ALOT of polishing later they started to show some shininess :)
I polished them in this progress:
320grit
400grit
600grit
800grit
1000grit
1200grit
1500grit
2000grit
2500grit
Then machined polished them with 4" fine discs and a polish-paste.
Then I polished them by hand with Meguiars metal polish.
I bathed the screws in ketchup, coke and soapsolution in seperate prosesses.
Then polished them with an electric toothbrush and Meguiars metal polish :)

The wheels were shipped to get some rubber on ´em..
About same time I received my KW Inoxline V2 :)
The wheels with 215/35-18" Nankang NS2 (I don't care about theire performance, I chose them for their nice stretch.)

...but then what I hoped wouldn't happen did. My license plates was revoked.
Since Norway has quite strict regulations for cars, roads and such my car was apperantly, and I quote: "A danger to yourself and others." The car was too low, wide and had to much stretch.

The car stood then for about 6-7months without being moved, with no license plates.
Since it had to go thru quite an extensive test to get my license plates back I had to change everything that they would mark in that test.
Replaced the ABS-module (the previous stopped working just before I was stopped), raised it 8-10cm, wheel alignment control, light control, install the original bulbs and replace some multilink-parts.
About a month or two ago I finally got my plates back...so now it looks like this
....but it will be low and slow once more, only when the snow clears away :)
so this is my autobio. Will update on mods and such here in the future :)

Thanks guys :)
Currently waxing it, installing xenonlights again and improving the sideskirt mounts :)
Looks like I have to wait some before I can mount the summerwheels. :(

Wow this avant means business. Love the car and fantastic pics.
How easy (hard) was the S4 recaro swap??

It was ok, I guess. Don't have to be a brain surgeon at least :p
The recaro-seats were plug&play hence my previous seats were electric also.
Front- and rear-bumper was not p&p, but wasn't a hard fix. Only 2 of 3 holes on the brackets at the sides matched. With a bit of modding they fitted nicely :)
Sideskirts were definitely the hardest part since there is like a million of brackets under there :p
I also chose not to have the bottom door moldings, so I got someone to take a grinder and remove the pins, weld the holes shut and have it resprayed. Result.
Btw, sorry for my rather poor English :)

I love the shaved lower moulding look. With the euro s4 rear it gives the car the quasi wide bod look.
BTW, what kind of crazy valve stems are those in the last pics?

Seems a bit more RS4ish with the shaved lower look, if you ask me :)
Uhm, it a fake cartridge of some sort...bought it on ebay :)
Got a 6,5x55 (without powder ofc) hanging in the mirror up front, so to complete the theme I got some valve stems to.
The gun-cartridge theme has a special meaning to me, without going into further details.
More better images coming soon!

Well, I must be one of the few that actually likes the dark shiny wood trim :O
The light wood looks awful, but the dark one aint that bad IMO. Haven´t any plans of changing them in the nearest future :)
...and love you to! heh
