Map lights - i.e. for reading a map before GPS navigation became economical...

if you turn your radio on while holding 5 you can adjust a built in equalizer.
55555555
From Left to right. (Front Low) (Front Low Mid) (Front mid high) (Front High) (Rear Low) (Rear Low Mid) (Rear mid high) (Rear High)
Select from 1-9. Use the volume knob to adjust. Press P.Scan to advance to the next number. When you are done, turn it off and your settings will be saved.
also by turning the radio on with p scan pressed you can adjust the speed sensitive volume adjustment. use the right knob. 1-5 where 5 is most sensitive
Dont BLOW your speakers.

Holding the traction control "ESP" button for ~10 seconds does...something? XD the light goes on with the initial press, then goes off and stays off. As best as I can tell, traction control stays on after that until the car turns off/on again.

I've scoured AZ and google, high and low. Even people that have called Audi NA couldn't get a decent answer.

Accessing adaptation channel 03 lets you edit the value, but you can only edit in increments of 5% from 85 to 100. I'm at 105 right not IIRC and it's pretty close to my actual mileage.

will have to calc out the mpg and recheck and adjust and clac out again. So if your MPG reads low. Mine says 18mpg but I know im getting better from calc do i raise or lower the percentage value?

I don't remember off the top of my head, but the changes are immediate so you can adjust the value then just check the read out on the MFD and see if the average went up or down.

My guess is that you raise it. It should be a multplier....so if you multiply say 18mpg by 110% you'll get 19.8mpg

That third sun visor hid itself from my discovery for about a year. MAN was that appreciated once I found it!

Between the front dome light and the windshield, there's a 1" wide plastic flip-down visor to block sunlight in the gap between the leading edge of the roof and the rear-view mirror. Those Audi engineers thought of just about everything, except a decent cupholder.

Found it. It was flolded up. I would've never know it was there. Looks like it's never been touched. Definitely a cool feature.

Same. All early 2001's had old badges and ESP, including mine. Butttt, I said fuck that and put facelift badges on the trunk, grille, and got an 02 cluster

Dear God is this annoying. It's like it gives my passengers an excuse to set their drinks on the floor.
Unfortunately, they're not the ones that have to clean my car

A6's have a removable cup holder in the arm rest. Maybe our armrests are the same size and you guys can add it.
The forward most one accepts a larger sized cup, the rear one holds a standard size like the crappy dash ones but it holds it more securely.

What's awesome? Everyone gets excited when they see another S4. You'll point, scream, swear, drool and then wave to the other driver who's doing the exact same thing.

When I was driving my car home the other night after buying it, I reached into the dash for something...don't remember what and saw two red circles on my hand. For a moment I thought the Predator was somewhere and I was about to get blasted!

last time someone approached me like that, i acted like i bought it 2 weeks before and told him all i know is that it drives and the fuel tank holds fuel, i thought he was gonna boil over in excitement as he tried tell me that he's SURE that its got ATLEAST one turbo...and he started telling me all about my car, unfortunately i had friends waiting for me to go fishing, wasn't able to hang around and see what he had to say, i took off after he finished telling me how even the glove compartment opens slowly!!!! lol...poor guy, still doesn't know i was messing with em.

hahahaha I almost wrecked my car into a curb a few weeks ago when I saw a santorin b5 s4 in my township. I didn't have any passengers in my car, but I still yelled "HOLY SHIT!!!! LOOK AT THAT!" as I beeped my horn, gave a thumbs up and got really sad when he turned the other direction.
BTW - that third sun visor is awesome. It also came in my b7 a4, which makes me think that these 11 year old cars had some neat stuff for their time.
As for the radio equilizer settings, that is a really cool little feature and it really works. My speakers are definitely crisper with a little bit more bass behind them (I don't blast them anyways because I want to hear the exhaust note). I love these hidden gadgets!

There's a first aid kit in the rear centre arm rest. That's about all I could think of that hasn't been mentioned but may have been overlooked.
I'll also confirm the alcantara seat differences between 2000's> and 2001's<. The newer style has more alcantara than the older ones.

Pressing the middle foglight button (next to the ESP button for those who have it) will turn on front and rear foglights and make you look like an idiot.

Wait......rear fogs?!?! What kind of space car is this?!?! Ok seriously though, I didn't know that's what that button was. I've only had the car for 4 days. What lights up when the rear fogs are on? I'll have to look when I'm home.

It turns on a really bright (as bright as when you press the brakes) light that is red. It's only on the driver side, at least for the Americas (from what I know), there is a spot on the passenger side that you could probably put a bulb in, though. Don't ever use it, unless conditions are bad and you want people behind you to see you.
