So as title says, timing belt blew, Owell got car dirt cheap anyways. I was stage 2+ before and got bored with the power, so now that new engine is going in, what should I do for a build? It needs to be reasonable to an extent. Getting a new stock motor tomorrow, so my question is what should I do to it, I can't break the bank. Or should I leave this motor stock, throw in k04s and run it while I build the motor that just blew tbelt? Would be built to 2.8. All options considered

I agree, I would just do K04's on the new motor if this is your daily driver and need something that is reasonably reliable, you did say it needs to be reasonable lol and although many people would not consider a car with around 400 awhp reasonable for a DD but I and most others on here do! Then build up the old motor that blew the t-belt to a 2.8 and do Tial 605's or 770's. If I ever get bored with the power I get from my full stage 3 PJ K04 car I plan to build a second motor up and do 605's.

No just do k04 and go crazy on the other motor. k04 is safe, reliable and you dont need custom tuning to run them or a shit load of supporting mods. i think there is a rebuilt set in the classifides right now for a good price, jump on them quick.

I'm also in this similar conundrum . Bought s4, found out motor was nearly blown. I'm deciding whether or not i should ko4 the new (used) motor and slowly rebuilt the one i pull out to be a monster over the next year or so. Would used ko4's suffice ?

also, where are you in new hampshire? i'm right in concord.

for sure. pm me your number if you want. We're pretty much doing the exact same thing at the same time. my motor is almost out, will finish it tonight. buying the new (used) motor on monday and starting to drop that in throughout next week. if i could find used ko4's before then, that'd be great.

Why would I just do rods on new motor? That wouldn't get me that much I don't think?

Search, you can do it search the section.

So you aren't driving the car anyway. do it right the first time. Do rods and enjoy the full potential.
