Very nice. Can't wait to see some numbers!

PS. Dom; 2.8L heads have sodium filled valves just like 2.7L. At least the two 2.8L heads I've cut open valves from did. Different part number in ETKA, but so far, they seem to be the same.

I know from your post back when you did cut them...

These stock 2.8 heads went thru some serious abuse... without failing !

Yeah, after your post, I cut open one of mine as well, and they were sodium filled. Prob different part number because of different keeper location.

never seen it in person but those valves can explode ... usually wont happen unless water is in the mix but wouldnt recomend cutting open sodium valves all day.. again i think water is the thing it reacts to used to have warnings on all the boxes of sodium valves we installed at the machine shop about disposal etc....

Yup, sodium and water react, explosively! That's why when I use it to flavor up my fries, I avoid drinking water for a while.

cant tell if sarcastic or not

the sodium you have on your fries is NaCl- sodium chloride- ie doesn't react to water

yup, sodium(0), not sodium (+1)..big difference. Also, the solid is kept in a silicon oil to prevent water vapors from reacting with it. Very dangerous.

we did a couple of grams of cesium in water and it exploded instantaneously blowing the bucket it was in right in half

now if only you could do some francium- except it explodes even worse and is radioactive so you would have a small dirty nuke basically

Yes, sarcastic (I've taken a good few chemistry courses). And I was saying I used valve goo to flavor the fries. Just joshin'.

    Results:

    Mike's coupe:

    Maverick's A6-RS6-770R:

    Guruman's no liar!

On Maverick's graph, you can see a gentle boost onset (no spike). It was intentional.

Mike's graph shows a more traditional torque curve. We touched 40psi at torque peak. That has been dialed back a bit :) You can see what I think are the differences between 2.7 and 2.8 heads. Guess which has the 2.8 heads....

One more thing for track enthusiasts

The 4000 lbs RS6 went to the track already on street tires at 30 psi (about 650 whp)
