B5 S4 TIP Trans Removal question

Does anyone have a good write up on how to remove the trans??

I want to do a tc swap... please let me know!

Do you think this is a job you can do without a lift (floor jacks) for a b5 s4?

It is a $1200 job. You can save $ if you do it on your back.

Yea a couple of people gave me a good price, $550-700 and thats just labor, on the side work. I was just wondering if it possible to do it with no power tools and just floor jacks and regular back yard mechanic tools. I've changed a transmission on a dodge before this way but thats a dodge, this is a complicated german car.

It will take you forever on your back. You will find impossible to access the bolts behind the turbos. $1200 should include all labor, rebuilt TC, new trans fluid and filter.

Yea, thanks for your suggestions. I dont think i want to do it myself anymore, lol. I just got a price from a performance shop that for labor he will charge $800. And then $500 for stage 1 tc from
vast. And $425 for tip chip from vast. Fluid and trans filter, and gaskets, and little stuff here and there, transaxle seal, output flange seals for front drive shaft, input seal for tc, central support bearing for my drive shaft, rs4 trans mounts while im in there,i guess im looking right around $2000 all together if i get lucky.

Wow. Lucky. The guy I went to charged $3k to pull and inspect my home tranny replacement job. And even after that, the used tip I bought was bad. Now back to ground zero and less $3k
