Cincinnati vs Columbus
Which city is better? I don't drink, and I'm kind of old to be going to clubs... more interested in other city amenities like restaurants, good gyms, good food, neighborhoods, potentially school systems, traffic, etc...
Is there any difference in weather? Who gets more snow?

More snow the more north you go. I live in cincy. I dont bar hop anymore but there are some good places to eat/drink. I have hung a few times in columbus and they are about the same. Cincy has hofbrahaus and now Christian Moerlen bar that just opened up. Couple cool places to go.
Also some casinos local to cincy and one being built. Amusement park as well!
Traffic sucks in cincy though. Northern Kentucky is a bit nicer traffic wise and there are some nice schools here too.
Looking at moving?

Columbus is great. Since I've lived here I would say Cincy has been getting hit with more snow and rain over the last 5-6 years that I can remember. There are a ton of great gyms, food, schools, and traffic is way better I feel. I would say make sure to have a job lined up when you come up here. I've lived in northern Ky/ cincy area for 16 years. Funny thing is work might take me to Cleveland. Option 3? haha
but this area is nice, everything Myallroad said, plus great auto community

I have lived in Cincy and Columbus and I can tell you I found Cincinnati a much more enjoyable town to live in. Seems that Cincinnati has growing lately, it has a lot of cool amenities, pro teams, nice riverfront area... That said, both cities are fine and I did not dislike either of them. Both are better than where I am now in Indianapolis. I'd move back to Cincy in a heartbeat - not so much Columbus.

I live in IL but travel to Cincy atleast once a month to see my gf's family and such and I love it. I guess its a step down from Chicago as far as size of the city and such but its a really nice area. The traffic is not really that bad. There are great places to eat, you have major sports teams there, shopping and its relatively a decent priced city to live. If I had to relocate there, I wouldnt mind it at all. To me, southern Ohio is a gorgeous place to be.

I lived in Columbus for 8 years and moved to Cincinnati for a new job back in November of 2010. We lived just south of Polaris mall in a Westerville address/worthington schools neighborhood and We ended up in Loveland and have been really happy with the move. We liked having everything at our fingertips when we were in Columbus but really enjoy the smaller town feel of Loveland and being a bit tucked away from the busier areas of town. We looked hard at mason, Montgomery, and blue ash when we moved here, but landed in Loveland.
End of day I think both cities are very similar with Cincy having more to do, especially if you have kids.
Would be happy to talk live if you'd want some additional perspective. Shoot me a pm if you want to talk.

I enjoy loveland a lot. Thats where I stay when I come into town. Loveland is a really nice family area and is definitely a small town with access to a lot. Not to mention there is a skyline right down the road from my gfs families house :)

You'll have to let me know when you're in town...we could hit cars and coffee together. I used to live in Waukegan then park ridge then linden hurst and spent a lot of time in Vernon hills my first year in the Chicago area playing FIFA 99 on play station at a buddies apartment. Man...typing FIFA 99 makes me feel old.

Yeah for sure!!! I know all of those areas. I just got into the Audi scene in November and came from the Mazda world and not too many Mazda guys out there. Let me tell you this, a Mazda3 hatch + southern Ohio roads = GREAT TIME!! I love the winding roads and highways out there. Im trying to remember the exact part of Loveland that my gf is from. I just know how to get there and dont know many of the roads. I know that there is a Skyline, Wendys, Walgreens, CVS and a car dealer all on the one intersection by her house. She lives in a valley out there. Damn it... time to call the gf to find this out haha.

May shoot you a PM once I am more sure that I will have a job in cincy. The job would be in Fairfield (just interviewed yesterday). I googled loveland briefly, looks like a good place to live.

I lived in Forest Park/Fairfield area for a year or two. It's quite a ways from downtown, but has all the amenities you need. Loveland is an great place to live and your commute would not be so bad. Forest Park is nice too(some nice golf courses there) as is Springdale.

If I take the job (still waiting on one other offer in Cbus) I will likely trade in my A4 for a B8 S4 or B7 RS4, so yeah will definitely be looking for some audi GTG's

FYI, if you are looking at those options of cars, avoid forrest park, fairfield, and sharonville now. lol
Loveland, west chester, mason if you want a nice place and easy access to fairfield. West chester and mason would give you quick access from the micheal fox highway.
I am planning a GTG soon so keep eye on the midwest section. When you looking at moving?

I lived in Cincy for more than 8 years; have been in Columbus now since 2006; the best thing about Columbus is that it is the biggest city in Ohio yet the commute from any place to any other place averages 15 -20 minutes. On the other hand; Cincinnati probably has much better restaurants; best views of town; I mean the Parks and views are just amazing nothing like in any where; and weather; is for sure an average 5 degrees better than Columbus for sure. Commute though; if you had to work in downtown sucks really bad. I actually lived in Anderson; and used to commute to downtown and it was good 35 minutes; but a friend of mine lived in West Chester; and commuted to downtown and his commute was close to an hour one way. when I used to go visit him; it was an easy hour one way.

I agree that traffic in Columbus was much better/lighter than traffic in Cincy. It's not much of an issue for me as I typically leave for work around 8am and don't head home until 6:30pm or after, so most of the congestion has cleared out by then, at least on the NE side of town.

If op is working in fairfield, best bet is westchester/mason for a nice area. Only reason to go downtown is for newport. And that would be at night or on the weekend when you can get down 75 with quickness, no traffic. Plus, everything you would need is in west chester. even close to kings island.

Newport?! Hell nah. You can still smoke in those bars. I prefer getting home and not being able to twist my shirt up, light it on fire, and get a good buzz off of it. Well at least not with tabacco
