Thanks for ilspazzaneve for setting this up. Had a great time and weather was really nice. The revo 93 tune is definitely making some good power. My fastest run was 12.35 @ 113.8 mph, took off 0.8 seconds off my stock 1/4 time and gained 7 mph.

That's awesome...post that dude, I believe you are the fastest REVO 93 now.
...sorry I ran off to the road course so soon, best I could do was 12.13 at 114 on the 100 tune. No improvement, even tried David's trick with removing the rubber intake boot.
Still editing video. Lol we have one of that Switzer P1000 GT-R, he was trapping 137. Amazing what $60,000 in engine mods will do...

They (employer) frown on employees that use an octane higher then their car requires. They don'y mind paying for 91 if you car requires it.

Was a good time @ the track on Friday... had the chance to line up against ilspazzaneve.... he got me off the line and even with my MPH I wasn't able to pass... unfortunately my LC was set too low (3500) and I was just bogging off the line... I later set it too high (4500) and was completely frying all 4 through first gear.

Pardon me, it's a switzer R1K. Bro James was talking to him, apparently he's 800 hp on pump gas and low 10s, or 9's with race fuel....

The GT-Rs were not confident drivers in the infield twisties, but on the straights they never really got far away either. I never passed the GT3RS4.0, bad timing on when I went out, but he was babying the car (I hope) when he was on, it wouldn't have been tough. Challenge of the day was that SAME cobalt SS I'd seen before but with a new owner - it has extra boost, race suspension, and R-compounds, it's capable of 1:21s here and I have only done a best of 1:22 in the NSX....we followed each other for a few laps back and forth. The time attack Z06 driver was indeed the former Cobalt owner, lol, said he had done 1:19s here in the Z06, so that figures why he was just booking around there.

Your car was awesome...! I was scared seeing you run me down.
Cheers you got me doing an 0.067 RT, if nothing else I was RT champ of the day...it really is something I try for, timing that second yellow light. That's how boring DSG launches are...
Anyhoo some edited video of my day. Had to use some ATCO footage from earlier this year to fill in the gaps...

Good eye! The car used to belong to the Sherway Acura dealer, he put those wheels on for something retarded like $5000 in 1997... Definitely not todays style, but they're great and light. I nearly choked when I called Kodiak Wheels for getting a replacement after one bent, they don't stock the $300 rim shells anymore for these, so I got it fixed at Precision Rim and went on my way.

Hey man...you had better things to worry about than drag racing when we went to ATCO...hope everything is great and busy at home...did you notice the 12.35 Turbobaby did on REVO 93? That could have been you at ATCO, lol.
NotoriousVR's B5 obviously has a better power-to-weight ratio, but doesn't launch as well, or shift as fast as DSG, give him another few hundred feet and he'd be by me.
Lol you asked for it:
'ET' is elapsed time
"trap" is the final speed
60 is the time to get the to 60' marker, pretty critical to your ET and indicative of traction. Some RWD cars lose 0.2 sec of ET for every 0.1 seconds lost at the 60' due to a bad launch.
RT is your reaction time to the green light.
Staging beams are the two pencil-thin light beams 7" apart that your front tires block at the starting position
The trap speed is measured by timing your last 66' of the 1320 total feet, it's not actually your speed at the end of the 1320'
There is a water box to allow race-tires guys to get their tires to slip for a proper burnout, AVOID THIS, just drive around it (Unless you are at ATCO you have no choice but to drive through).
The tree are the yellow lights, and subsequent green and red (left to early, or redlighted) that count down your run. They also contain the staging indicator bulbs to show you if you car is staged properly.
Awesome article on staging your car at the beams: The Art and Science of Staging
Practice the sportsman tree
Practice a pro tree (they actually used this at ATCO the first run, I was f__king shocked)

Most definitely... it's obvious in my MPH...
I'm still trying to work out a good launch routine... last year I was able to pull multiple 1.6 60's in a row... (also ran 11.98)... shifting on the other hand is one are where you guys have a huge advantage... I already missed a gear or two last year (missed 3rd once last year quite hard and slightly bent something in the tranny as far as I can tell), and once on a run on Friday... so I tend not to shift as fast as I really could, so I'm loosing time there as well.
Not making excuses just saying it as it is.... once I get my tuning issues sorted I hope to be pulling in the 120 mph range w/o meth and mid to high 120's on my most aggressive tune and boost levels with meth. But it's all just speculation at this point :)
All in all, it's just for fun and to set a benchmark for myself...

Haha, family is good. I'm getting used to 6 hours of sleep now. It's not toooo bad :D. As for me running 12.35? I'm not sure, my engine is still fairly green @ only 4k miles. I didn't realize the other car was a B5. So basically he was off a slow start but made up the speed and time at higher speed? ok, that makes sense.

Hi everyone,
I'm the GT-R owner some of you saw at the track.
I recognize this is an Audi forum - maybe it helps that I have a friend with a 2000 S4 (heh heh, anyone...no?)
I'm pretty much a fan of anything fast - and anyone who races...I've been racing for over 20 years.
Bangoman was wondering what the power output of the car is - 800 awhp on full boost pump gas/1014 awhp on race fuel.
It is true that the R1K package is quite costly - but I was lucky to be sponsored by Switzer as they needed Canadian representation, so I got in for a sweet deal.
I would love to see any track videos you may have. I have a channel on Youtube under CarandRacer and I believe I may have some videos of your cars as well.
Speaking of which, your cars are pretty amazing...
I'm at Cayuga all of the time, so I hope to see you all there - Cheers!

On side note hey guys when in May do we head out again?? before it get too hot :) if thats possible in Canada

Are you ever up near Ottawa? You should check out this event in Smith Falls in August. http://racetherunway.com/ I think you'd have a good chance to win.

Cheers,
Thank-you so much for suggesting this event - I have been looking for something like this - half decently close (4.5 hours, but at least its in Ontario) for some time!!!
I will definitely be showing up to this - it would have been nice for this to be a mile event - but I will take it!
I'm not normally up in Ottawa - but if I am, I will let you know. For the person who asked about being sponsored by Switzer - I will let you know - but I think you guys are doing really well already with the times you are consistently putting down!
Thanks again!

Hey Jeremy, it was my brother talking to you that day at the track, I have the white 2010 S4. it was really sublime the way you eased off the line, then see the car just rocket away a hundred feet out.
Hmmm, 1/2 mile is ok, but one mile is better. I might have access to a new 10-sec exotic that I'm sure would be a crowd pleaser......but we'll see if I can get it out there. Slim chances but I'll sell it and see.
What do you expect to do in the 1/2 mile? 170 (what's that, like 275 km/hr?)

Very cool - the day you guys saw me I was on my lowest boost setting because the track was pretty perilous that day.
I think the airstrip event will be pretty great - although I agree a full mile would be better.
Another R1K did a half mile event and did 176 MPH I believe, I will try to find the video...
Is the new 10 second exotic a MP4-12C by any chance - I remember speaking with your brother about it...that would rock!

Thanks - I can always use the positive energy - especially in races like this...;)
That is a beautiful and very mean looking car...his car is lighter, but I'm thinking I will have a traction advantage (Although at these power levels traction is tricky no matter what)...
I am VERY excited about this race!

Yes, already selling the event, forwarded the info to pops, including the rent-a-driver ;-). Should be broken in nice and ready for action by then. It would be nice to have that car out at Mosport, really, considering the back straight there is 3/4 mile itself, but maybe this is a baby step.

I would say that you will trap at least 160 MPH in the 1/2 mile as the Mclaren gets faster in the mid-top end. I just want videos (part of my sponsorship - but mostly for me). We need more events like this in Ontario. I watch Dragtimes alot and just wanted to be able to let the car out. It's not about winning for me - it's the race and rush.
