Alignment in Chicago Area?
Looking for a good place out near warrenville/naperville. I hear Firestone does a lifetime alignment which would mean that adjusting my coilovers and going back in would be covered. Sounds good to me.
Any advice?

Almost went there for my tune. It is right next to one of our buildings (work) and so I checked them out. They look pretty legit to me. I will probably go get dynoed there sooner or later.
I am basically just looking for a place that offers a 'lifetime alignment' that does a digital readout of camber, caster, and tow. And is cheap with good results.

I'll definitely keep these in mind.
I had GRD do my alignment once, but their road has a super nasty bump where one slab of concrete sank like 4 inches, so I dislike going to them lol. Also I think they raised my car when they did my alignment.

Might have a little trouble finding that type of offer at a performance shop...If you do please let us know.
I don't know about your car but on my B5 S4 you can't adjust camber on stock control arms...Adjustable control arms are a must if you go real low.

That is how B6 and B7's are as well. The rears are adjustable. But with 25"ftg I should be good. Just Barely have neg camber on the front.

Everyone's talking bout GRD, maybe I should give them a holler since I like like 2 mins driving from them.
I've checked out the Thor vs. Panzer and everyone goes with Thor cause is Thicker. And right now Boras Part has them on sale with Free Shipping! But it ends today i think :(

I have Bilstein struts/Eibach sport springs...The camber was still within spec. The true test is always tire wear and I have no issue there either.

Yeah lots of guys all the way to 24" ftg are good as long as your tow is proper. They get 20k out of the tires still.

So I guess the firestone in ElmHurst honors the lifetime alignment. That is way too far for me though... I might just stick around here.

We sublette all our alignments to Just Tires in Plainfield. We have brought them much that is low and have never had a problem.

I just got my alignment done. Went to Firestone or Lisle, IL.
Lifetime alignment! That means I can adjust my coilovers, get upper control arms, do whatever, and they will align it again. For free. For the life of the car.

How long did it take or how low did I go?

I cant remember what he said for price originally, I think it was like $160, but I'll let you know when I pick it up after tax and all.

Yeah so it was $170 out the door. He said limit is once per day. lol
they did a great job too! I just got 30mpg city driving into work... I must have been decently off before.
Also, now my front camber is at about -1.4deg, is that tire eating territory?

They always treat you nice the first day. Everytime other time I've called in, Firestone says "Oh yeah come right in" and when you go in they give you an estimate of 8 hours to get it done because they have "prior" customers waiting. Be sure to complain a little and let them know that you want it done in a timely matter. Set up an appointment so it is done and you are not waiting 8 hours for a freakin alignment. That was my biggest issue. Last time I took it in, they "didn't get to it" and I was left with a car that wasn't properly aligned riding on tires from them with the extended warranty. Then they told me I better get it aligned or it will "void" my warranty. Epic fail.
Sorry just ranting. But still a good deal if you do it at least 3-4 times.

CPT is where it's at. Might be a bit pricey for an alignment so I understand you seizing the great deal in Lisle but if you're ever looking to have major work done, CPT is the place to go. I had CPT do my supercharger pulley install, send my ECU out for tune a tune twice, and fabricate a custom intake for me.

Their work is top-notch. Going to have them do my coilovers in May.

Thanks for the advice. I could definitely see that. The price was definitely right though. I will just toss the idea at him of me buying some tires and I am sure he will keep treating me nice for at least a little while.
