    Worst experience at dealer today..

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
so i walk into McKenna Audi going in for my 15k maintenance.. shiz.. too bad that wasnt the only thing that happened. so they told me id have to wait 1.5 - 2 hrs for my car.. which was fine.. took my car at 745am.. got my car back like 4 hrs later.. what the heck is that.. i mean shiz.. if i was going to have to wait 4 hrs i wouldve left the darn dealer hours ago.. to top it off.. when i got my car.... back bumper was jacked.. it was obviously whoever drove hit my car into something.. who knows what the f*ck it was. talked to the ppl... they said they'd fix it but ya shiz.. what the heck do i get for my inconvience..my suggestion is never to go to MCKENNA AUDI again.... god damn.. 4 hrs for a wait for a god damn oil change. what kind of dealer is that.. shiz.. if i had work today i wouldve been so screwed...

freakin pondering if i should call AoA or not right now.

Sucks but it happens, as standard dealer sevice is all day.

I had a similar experience at Diablo Audi, came in to get the door handle that was loose installed back on my driver's side door. When I came in they forgot to have the part painted.

So I came back the next day and the guy said he could snap it on in a minute, 1.5 hours later, I'm still reading business week in the service lounge, waiting for my car. I talked to the service writer and he said it would take a few hours as they were having problems. Said he would wash my car for the inconvenience, and call me when ready. 2 hours later I check back in and he says the cars ready, pull it around and the handle's on, but car isn't washed. No biggie, just glad my car is back. I drive to work ( a block away), and think to myself, I should probably double check the work.

Behold, it's still loose! I take it back to the service writer, tell him to call me when it's really fixed and explain that if he has to order a new part, don't call me until everything's painted.

4:00 I get a phone call, cars ready, wash is done, and I'm back on the road. Sometimes you have to express your sour feelings to get these guys to pay better attention to detail. I didn't like that I dealt with 3 different service people through this, and that the communication was so bad. I'll be going to Livermore Audi, even though the convenience of Diablo Audi was the distance to work.

    Sorry to hear bud.

I never take the time that service advisor told me. It's always longer. As long as the bumper is getting repaired at their expense, I wouldn't call AoA. AoA is useless for stuff like this.

Sorry to hear about the bumper. Sounds like the dealer fessed up to the mistake and offered to repair the problem. Accidents happen...so it's nice to know that your dealer is willing to accept responsibility. Chances are that the person who authorized the repair of your bumper has no idea how your bumper was damaged. I'd say it shows strong faith in the customer to repair without asking questions.

Although it's annoying, the 4 hour wait time is not excessive. Save yourself future headache and always plan on dropping the car off in the a.m, taking a loaner or shuttle to work/school, and pick the car up in the evening. This eliminates any frustration on your end...and also gives the dealer plenty of time to focus on servicing your car.

    just my 2 cents.

Sorry to hear the bad news. I have bought all my cars from Mckenna, but will never take my car to their service department. Problems like the ones you listed above and others I have experienced have ruined thier chances of ever getting my business when it comes to servicing my car. The sad thing is that most service departments now a days are the same. I use Beverly Hills Audi when I need my car serviced. At first, they were great and were located near my job which made things real easy. Lately their service has sucked ballz. They never check to see if the work is done. They hand you your keys and remind you to give them 10's across the board when AoA calls, but never check to see if the work has been done properly. Example, took my car to get a speaker replaced. When I picked up the car, speaker was missing. The Service guy never checked to see if the work was done. That and other things have made me question going back. Now I understand they have a lot of work, but if you want to keep your customers happy, you have to go the extra mile everyday. Keep them happy and they will come back. My 15K is coming up and I dont know if I want to go back. Just ranting I guess, but I know how you feel.

They quoted me $200 at HBL Tysons to replace my spark plugs with Bosch coppers. TWO HUNDRED. Bought some tools, went home and did it myself in like 20 minutes.

That sealed the deal for me. Never been to the dealer since!

i know how you feel.. i've had pretty much a bad experience at the dealership i go to.. namely rusnak in pasadena. i only go here because its convenient, otherwise i'd go somewhere else. here is an example of what they did, while claiming i brought the car in like this...

i'm glad they offered to fix it but to try and not take responsibilty for it at first was mindblowing. other things that bother me.. they never call me when my car is finished, i always have to call them. they have supposedly fixed my door speakers after me bringing the car in like 3 times. still cuts in and out. now my warranty's up. frickin fantastic. i can go on but i don't want to waste anymore of your guys' time.. anyhow, good luck in the future with your dealership.. and stay away from rusnak!

SOUND FAMILIAR. THE WAIT TIME AT MCKENNA SUCKs !! CAN I REPEAT SUCKS!!!!!!!!! honda deals with more than 60 cars a day and manages to have atleast 50% out before the day ends. McKenna does max 17-19 appointments per day and still they cant have the car to you in a decent time. They lie as well trying to trick you the some things are normal on your car when in reality they arent. Thats why i changes advisor...and went with one hella cool service writer and he's an audizine member.

knock on wood, but my dealer has been awesome. granted it does take all day for service, but i usually just plan to drop it off anyway. they love me there, i always bring in a bunch of donuts and coffee for everyone. i find it amazing how some dealers are so good, and others are horrible.

jatea4, as far as i know, audi service is supposed to wash your car after every service anyway. they shouldn't offer to wash for your inconvenience. i don't like them washing mine, so they don't, but they are supposed to.

    I agree for the most

stealerships are called that for a reason right? well i have to vouch for Mckenna in this case though. I have a buddy who just got "promoted" to the audi foreman. Former foreman (hehe) left cali and my friends had his balls busted since.
Mckenna is going under major renovation. They just moved the Vw side down the block and he's been going back and forth tryign to keep things stable on both sides. I've had great service from mckenna in the past, but I've seen the background drama and i kinda feel for those guys.
Sorry to hear all you guys had to go through all of that. If you guys need an advisor, i've got the guy that'll take care of you. pm me if anyone needs.

Granted, Makenna does have a long wait.. but remember, they are under major constuction right now.. Their tecks are sharing work stations with porsha and VW while the new Audi dealership is being built. Also, the nearest Audi dealership is in Long Beach or Downtown LA. I'm sure the are all busy.

I'm not making excusess but simply stating fact. When I take my car to the dealership, I always expect a wait...

    Good luck bro....

    Thumbs down NIELLO!!!

My recent encounter at Niello Audi in Sacramento has to be the worst experience ever. I had called in to get my windshield wipers replaced, as well as to get my CEL checked out. So I bring my car in on Tuesday, and lose all contact with the service advisor. I couldn't believe it, whenever I called, I had to talk to a stupid voice mail, which I left about 20 messages asking when I would get my car back. Well surely enough, I never received a call back, and after throwing a tantrum on the 9th day, they tell me that everything is checked out and it should be fine.

I have been to three different dealerships in the Bay Area which include Stevens Creek Audi, and Diablo Audi, and Niello by far had the worst customer service ever. I get my car back, and for the first time ever, I didn't receive a wash after a maintenence. And the wipers were yet to be replaced, and I was just happy to get my CEL removed. Interestingly when I asked the advisor what the problem was, he says it had something to with low voltage? Hrmmmm wait a second, when I vagged my car, it said that my O2 sensors were messed up. Surely enough, the CEL is back within 3 hrs of getting my car back.

Listen guys, don't ever I mean never ever ever give Niello your business again. I was never offered a rental car or anything for my inconvenience. I ever had Steven Creek calling me to make sure that I go in for my 30K serivice( which I didnt even need yet). And that itself showed me how $hitty Niello has been. Grrr sooo angry

Shiz! I'm sorry to hear all these really bad experiences with our local dealers. If you are from OC i would recommend going to McKenna & LOOK FOR **-ONLY---CHRIS (luvmshvd) very cool guy to work with! Thanks for the good service man, BUT YOU OWE ME A CAR WASH DUDE! lol Hope they would have their new building up & running soon, coz it's a mess with 2 dealerships sharing one service dept. I'm sure when the new Audi building is done service would be more efficient & organized (fingers crossed).

anyways.. even worse news.. i call back today.. and they say basically to wait another 2 weeks to fix the damn car b/c they have no loaners.. wtf is that..they promised to get it done today.. and i mean they should be working around my convenience.. yet they are working around their's? if it costs them for a rental who cares.. its their fault and they should take care of it.. man.. anyways i went ahead and called AoA.. im sick of this crap. im hoping when i get the car back its actually working in good order or something. im afraid they are going to do some more damage to it or something for causing such a ruckus... sigh.

Within weeks, his pads wore down to the rotors, he brought it back, and Commonwealth CHARGED him the cost for parts and labor to replace the destroyed rotors (which they once told him "dont worry about it" just a few weeks ago).

Maybe Peter can come on here and explain more in detail... but Commonwealth, McKenna, and Rusnak are all on my "shit list".

I remembered swinging by Rusnak once, returning from a roadtrip from Tahoe, and asked if I can get my windshield wipers replaced, as well as get my washer fluid topped off. The service advisor told me to return in a week for the wipers (5min job), and then DIRECTED ME TO THE GARDEN HOSE...saying to use that to top off my washer fluid. When I asked if they had the washer solution, he says "you can goto parts department for that, AoA doesnt cover that, nor do we".

Rusnak is currently having 3-4 lawsuits pending (bunch of pissed off Bentley and Jag owners) due to their negligence and poor service, and I hope they pay dearly. (Though the receptionist there is pretty hot).

McKenna is just packed with a bunch of idiots (customers and employees alike).

I think a lot of poor service comes back (as stupid as it may sound) jealousy. They see young people come in with nice cars and they already have a negative preception of us.

I mean how would you like to work on Audi's all day and never actualy own one???

jeff the brake story sounds legit, although honestly, there really isn't anything wrong with just using tap water for your windshield washers. I'm pretty anal about what i put in my car, but if i just need an emergency top off and i can't buy washer fluid anywhere near by, sure, tap water works great.

and wootang, not to flame, but honestly, 4 hours turn around for an oil change at a major dealer isn't bad at all....remember, they have other customers to work on too, and for the most part, its first come, first served. Unfortunately, mistakes sometimes do happen, its life, but if they agreed to fix the bumper for you without any argument, honestly i wouldn't complain about anything. it sucks, but it could be worse. i don't mean to flame anyone, but i say this all as someone who has worked in the back of a service dept, so maybe its just that i have a different perspective from some others who haven't.

hmm.. lets see i was probably one of the FIRST TO GET THERE.
i got there at 745 am.. i left near 1 oclock pm. and i was the only freakin person waiting for their car. i dunno man.. to me thats more than being patient with them. thing is.. ya sure they fix the bumper.. but what about for the inconvience ya know. i mean honestly if i did something wrong (i work for a bank, customer service issues glore).. i work with the customer's schedule to make things happen or fix things... if i make a mistake, we pay for it.. to make sure everything is as good to normal as it could be to hopefully receive their business again. when they say they are going to fix me around their schedule for being their fault, that aint customer service my friend.. thats putting you on the backburner.. and im sure my age (23) didnt help much at all.

We all know tap water will work, it was just the poor attitude of the service rep, and then wanting to CHARGE me for the addititive (complete bullshit imo). They have this "you are wasting my time" attitude over at Rusnak. Very unprofessional. I would have gotten tap water anywhere if that was the case.
