    Rns-e and bluetooth problems

I firstly want to congratulate everyone for an excelent site and a great forum.

My car is an Audi S3 8L 2003. After a long time of checking around in forums, i took the big decision and changed stearing wheel, radio and added blutooth which where not present originaly in my car. I instaled RNS-E (8E0 035 192 T) and MF stering wheel. Everything works fine except some small problems.

    A) The screen backlight does not dim even though the butons of the RNS-E do so in accordance with the rest of the cars buttons. It turns to night mode when the lights are switched on and the buttons illuminate more when light is flashed on the instruments cluster. Is this a problem of the RNS-E screen or the illumination works through some signal that is not present in my car?

    B) Bluetooth module is (8P0 862 335 D) and it seems to work fine except it does not bring contacts on the RNS-E screen. I know it is not a pairing issue because the contacts are displayed on the DIS and i can scroll through them but only on the DIS. The only screen that i see in the telephone menu is an advisory one that says ( Press answer or cancel when receiving a call). Coding is for Bluetooth (0001822) and for RNS-E (0505217). Is this a coding problem?

    Thnk you in advance!!

There is problem with your module 8P0 862 335 D, this module is not sending contacts from your mobile to RNS screen, only on DIS are available. To have this you need 8P0 862 335 H or 8P0 862 335 Q, but I already renewed that item and with H is all working fine.
So good luck with new module a than you enjoy real BT connection

Thank you for the information. I also thought that i need a diferent module because the 8P0 862 335 D is basic.
Is it certain that the can gateway is also needed?

Indeed, your BT module is an (old) basic one. Check http://audiforum.us/threads/audi-blu...-numbers.6858/

Besides that, your RNS-E coding is wrong. It's now 0505217, though, should be something like 020x6xx (where X is depending on your configuration)

    check: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...(RNS-E)#Coding
