A customer brought in this beautiful S4 in for service the other day and we wanted to show you the lightly smoked headlights and taillights. It gave the car a bit of an edge, while still remain tasteful and subtle.
mopsta81:"Very nice touch. You got those from bader? Wow, you have a little piece of royalty on your S5. I bet two dudes in black suits rolled up in a black quattroporte to hand deliver."

To each his own ;) I do t dislike it at all.... I think I'm just used to the tinted tail look after having on my other car for many years... Although, I had the clear lamin-x film on my headlights that faded and shrunk in the Vegas summers...resulting in many hairline cracks....and I doubt if I'll ever do it again.

Thanks! OK, I have seen that on the A6 but it's on both sides where the fogs would go - but never seen just on 1 side of the car. Learn something every day.

Im sorry, while I get that it looks "cool", why anyone would want to reduce light output or others ability to see you at night is beyond me.
6% reduction in light output isn't really that big. Not when you consider that people are putting on tints of up to 5% (that's a 95% reduction in light) on their windows. Even your own tint reduces light by 70% - don't tell me that it's unnoticeable in the dark.
If everyone did form over function, no one would be doing tint, or extreme lowering, or 20" wheels, or ...

There's no way that's 94% transmissive. A clear untinted piece of plastic isn't 94% transmissive. Heck, even a piece of glass isn't 94% transmissive unless it's got A/R coatings on it.

you may be correct - and without getting into numbers of transmissiveness (which would still apply to tinted windows) - guess the point i was +1-ing was that some of us make modifications that could be considered "less safe" from certain perspectives or scenarios...
