Here in New England, it was warm enough for me to wash and wax my car, so I did!
I took some pictures with the iPhone as the sun went down and though some of you might enjoy them.
I took a few with the high beams on in my new depos.
Tried to get the iPhone camera to focus under the car to make the picture a little darker as a whole.
Then I took two pictures of my daily three wheel adventure I get to go on every time I pull into my parking lot.
About the lights... I'm not sure I had someone else do the wiring for those. but my high beams are the only lights on in those pics.
As for the wheels I have 20mm spacers in the rear and nothing in the front. I'd like to get something between 10-15 for the front but I'm not sure and I have huge tires currently. Those are 245/45 Nankang NS-1. Could not beat the price at the time. I hope I can 'officially' call this my winter stance by next year but I ran it like this all summer.... I'd like to get some NUEs (18x9.5) or some three piece wheels but I need a job to start!
I have whit bulbs in there I think you might not be able o tell.
I'll check in a bit.
But here is one with the lows and city light on. I want an led for the city light or a yellow bulb, not diggin' the incandescent glow I get from the one that is in there now.
Yes I did Alex! I had some guy from Cali. (AZ member) send me a cactus green door from a part out which left me with enough money from insurance to get the best ECS timing belt kit they had installed.... (The lightweight pulley one, lol) So that was nice but in all honesty its a little off and quite scratched (But, great for 200 shipped). Those aren't the only panels that look a little mis-hued (for lack of a better term)...My car has tons of little dings and scratches that drive me crazy, but most don't show up in the pics so thats good. :D
I'd do anything for a S4 bumper and skirts and a respray though. heh
As for the depos, they are great... a huge improvement over the stock pre-facelift lights. The beam has some scatters and de-fractions but it only leaves one dark-ish spot in the road, that I don't notice. The cutoffs are better than I expected, though they were a bitch to get aimed so I could see and others didn't 'flash' at me. I got the 55w kit with 6000k lows and 2500k highs (I think I might have wanted 3k...) and they are crazy bright. I see my lights reflecting off stuff, street signs and other reflective stuff, when it's partly cloudy in the middle of the day.
And crazexr7 (Josh?.. hah funny thats my name as well.) thanks for that link! I've been searching and searching for the cheap clear side markers and haven't found them for less then thirty beans since I got the depos.
^^^I gotta agree.... it's like a new car every time I walk to it, even missing my lower grills. I can't believe how long I had those cataract ridden lights in there...
^^^ I obviously need to get on that. I just brushed the shit out of it with a tire brush and some dish soap, faded back pretty quick. I tried "back to black" on my window trims and sunroof thing it I swear it worked for like a week. So disappointed in that stuff... I'll have to try tire shine on that trim also. Unless people have other suggestions. (not a fan of heat gun method, don't trust my self)
And Alex I just turned 21 in Dec. enjoy it man! Nothing like being able to pay 5-6 dollars for a beer in public that you coulda' got a 'friend' get you a six pack of! lol
I just use the spray on tire shine stuff. The old trick is vasoline, but it will crack true rubber after a long time.. This tire shine stuff seems to just do the trick. I have tried back to black as well, and personally thats probably the only thing I would use for say "bumper tits" where they are actual big chunks of rubber.. But these plastic parts, boy it just works great... Tried it on the A4, a saturn, and my crx, and it just makes them look new.
BTW i've been doing this for about 3 years..

I use back to black. Seems to work alright, but I haven't washed her in a while so idk what it looks like under the winter filth lol 21 isn't a big deal to me, never had the urge to drink. I'm not "oh it's bad for you" I just genuinely never was tempted. More interested in mod money

^^^ I feel that. I only get a beer every now and again... I'm more of a green man myself. Booze is just too blaaahh for it to be satisfying all the time, but I do love a good beer.
I've been missing my old avant... any one wanna trade? :P I'm sure some of you gotta miss your old b5s!
I have no idea how or why but yes both highs and lows come on with the high beam.... I didn't understand it the first time I turned them on...at all. But with how the light output is on these I like that both come on. Idk how it'd be with just one or the other. Also, I checked and my "parking lights" are on with the headlights as usual... the iPhone just wasn't picking up the white blinker bulb.
& josh I saw on here a WHILE ago that some dude had his highbeams wired to come on at half power with the low beams and I thought it was sick but I have no clue where to find that info.... We should compare our wiring at the next Hartford area meet.
WTB lower grill for driver side and blinker bulbs that blink yellow but are silver? Do those exist!?!?!
planning on picking some up myself and I need to redo my wiring on my driver side, I had to disconnect it when I changed my timing belt tensioner. Now when my highs go on my low turns off on the drivers side but I'll probably leave it until I get my HIDs
And that is some interesting stuff going on there. I'm not too mechanically inclined and I don't have shit for tools/workspace any more so...I have to..."out source"
Thanks man! You b5 is quite the looker as well.... I was pretty damn upset that we didn't get anything. I love the quattro factor in the snow. Get with it! j/k j/k
