Started car today...
Very rough idle, zero boost, car shakes when trying to accelerate, engine only runs smoothly when off throttle and rpm's are dropping, If I try to accelerate hard, I get a braaaap sound, with no real acceleration. I understand the zero boost, but the rough idle and horrible running engine? Sounds almost like its running too rich, which im sure it is, since there is no forced air induction at all.

Try switching programs to stock or to 91 and see if you still have the same problem. Also may be the PCV, take the intake manifold connecter and blow into it and see if air goes through, if so it is bad. Also may be the coil packs, if you could get some codes that would help alot more.
I bought mine 6 months ago with only 8000 miles. Red with Titanium Package, which to be honest was the last color I wanted, but AZ members told me to buy it. I love it now.
Happened to me about a month ago and freaked me out. I'm stage 1 with 60k. I took it in and CPO covered it, cost $80 to replace. The new one looks different too, so I am hoping it will last.

Haha, that's awesome....how much did you get it for if you dont mind? 8000k miles is almost too good to be true.

Damn, you broke my record. I have 27,700 miles. Bought new and the same month I registered with Audizine.
For the mileage, your car sounded kind of low for a torn the DV...but I could be wrong.

Coilpack recall performed, problem solved, no charge..
At least I have the newer Diverter Valve in now.. But the Car seems slower now... wtf
The new piston DV just makes it a lot smoother than the older stock DV. I experienced the same thing after installing mine. You may want to unhook the battery for for an hour or 2 and then take the car out for a ride. Let it re-learn your driving habits with the new DV. You'll notice a difference.

ive heard of people losing there tunes after the ecu loses power, not sure if theres any truth to this but Ive heard it on several occasions on here...

You don't lose the tune, but it just resets back to stock parameters. Not a problem if you have APR, since you can just use the cruise control stalk to reset back to stage 2 or whatever.

Same thing right? We have revo so we would have to go back to whoever flashed us and get it reflashed/reset or whatever right? I'd consider that "losing" the tune lol

So I usually drive pretty conservativley... Does this affect the performance of the car?
Not exactly. What you are thinking about is the drive-by-wire system, which learns how you drive. If you drive around like a grandma, throttle response will slow down. You drive around like an asshole all the time, you will still have fast throttle response.
The logs of which bman speaks are actually a compiled file of fuel/air ratios, boost logs, timing, etc that are all averaged out together. This is what the car uses as a template for what it requests from the car. The longer these files are allowed to compile, the more "average" your performance will be, compared to the best and worst day your car has had.
Erase these logs, and it is running off a blank slate. Much more aggressive. This happened to me once, and it blew my dv! There really is a pretty big difference. It should be done fairly often, imo.

No problem, let us know how it goes. For me personally, it was night and day. It took a little while after putting the battery leads back together, but it will kick in.
There's also a throttle trick you can do with our cars that's similar to unhooking the battery, it was posted here a little while ago. I do it every 2 weeks to open up the throttle response.
1. Crank the E-Brake all the way up
2. Turn the key all the way but do not start your car
3 Step and hold the gas pedal all the way down for 3 seconds
4. Let go of the pedal, and take the keys out
5. wait 2-3minutes and start the car and take it for a ride
you'll notice it right away, enjoy

I have the APR 93, but i didn't pay for the on/off option.. If i do the throttle trick above, will i lose the tune? Cause if i lose mine, I have to get re flashed.

This sounds fake. How did you learn of this? Is there any way to know this works, other than driving?

Glad you've at least took care of the culprit. I heard the newer type DV is slow to respond. Did they replaced the plugs? If not it might be a good time to do so.
It's a real thing. His steps might not be exact, though. Search in the b6 section for a thread called "easter eggs". that's where I saw it for the first time. It just resets the throttle body.
