Cool B5A4 QUATTRO SS brake line retrofit

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've got a set of B5A4 Stoptech SS front and rear lines coming for my B7 Quattro.

Now I bought these used, and I figured I may need fittings to make them work...
So far so good, the part numbers for the fronts between the two makes are the same
    B5 A4 stoptech ss Front 950.33007
    B7 A4 stoptech ss Front 950.33007

Here's my dilemma, the B5 has different rear lines for FWD or quattro.
If this kit was for a B5fwd than I'd be in the money, because the Stoptech PN are the same

^^^^^the AWD B5 uses a two piece line. A Female to male, and female to female.

^^^^The B7 is one female to female line per side.

All I want to know is if the B5A4 Quattro rear lines will thread together to make one long female to female line per side like the B7A4 rear lines.?!?'v
If anyone can answer or provide insight it would greatly help.
Either way I will update this thread when the lines show up in postal lol

It's good, I created this thread to let the community know that there are other options out there for sourcing Brake lines. Which includes the B6 and B5 classifieds

Ok so here's the finisher on this thread:

The Stoptech front lines PN:950.33007 are about an inch to
Short to fit, I'm not sure who else is running these but unless you pull the hard line from the holder on the inner fender there is just no way without damaging the line or fittings at full lock...
So I took the longer section with the two rear lines
Spliced together and ran that in front instead, worked perfectly :-)

The rear caliper uses a M12x1.0 banjo iirc and the front lines actually are long enough to work back there. But obviously with two female ends the line wouldn't work without an adapter.
The Stoptech lines are M10X1.0 and finding a 12mm bore banjo to male M10x1.0 was proving near impossible. Luckily M10x1.0 and AN-3 are very similar in size. (army navy fitting 3/8 x 24 threads per inch)
And I was able to find a 12mm bore banjo to AN-3 on http://www.anplumbing.com/Adapters/Banjos-26.html if you click on the tab by XRP.
I think it was 20$ shipped for the fittings! Yikes

This is what the adapter looks like:

Long Story Short- can it be done, yes... Reccomended? Eh, it depends on price you can get the SS lines for.
And be precautions that the SS lines you do get are the right length
