    new suspension ideas

I am currently looking at getting full coilovers for my car. I have been looking at KW V2 coilovers but the price is a little steep for what im looking to spend. I currently have bilstein struts with lowering springs. The reason i am looking to upgrade is i hit a pot hole.... scratch that a freaking crater going home to ohio and i think i blew out the rear strut. Does anyone have any other ideas on where i should go with this? Im looking to spend about 1500 +/- ~500..... please any help would be appreciated

Looks like searching is dead. ST's +1.

I have had mine for about 7 months now and still love them.

Haters gonna hate but I'm ordering some racelands next week. For the price and the reviews I've seen can't beat it

I have had racelands for a few months now, they are a little stiff due to the high spring rates, however it is nothing worse than the ride quality of the ST's that I have ridden in.

If you are willing to spend $1500 on coilovers then get Bilstein PSS9's. They are a lot better than ST's.

Love my H&R's. Quality build, comfortable ride and they get pretty damn low if needed.

The ST's really are a great buy since they are basically a slightly cheaper version of the venerable KW V1, which has been well proven for years.

It is a good "Street" coilover; The ST or the V1 is not a performance setup compared to the V2 or V3 or other more aggressive setups out there.

And having ridden in both Raceland and ST, I found there to be a HUGE difference.

I like the price of st and the fact that their made by kw and forhalf the price that is very tempting. With half of the money i was going to spend on coilovers i can put that into getting a BT or start parting together the build that iwant to do to my motor. Will the ST suspension be stiff eough that i can autocross it without wishing after the fact that I shelled out the otehr half of the money for the KW V2??? I'm not trying to question everyone to death but I want to have some insight that going with ST (but im pretty sold on the ST) or a less expensive coilover is going to make me wish that I had spent the extra money...

If your goal is performance but you don't want to spend a ton, get a good spring/shock combo. If you have Bilstein sports, replace the blown damper and get performance springs--not lowering springs. The factory sport springs (1BE) are quite goos actually, and do not work gainst the car's geometry as lower springs do. Also check out Neuspeed SofSports or H&R OE sports. Stiffer rear sway, and you should be good to go.

Yes that's what the plan was. I was going to buy the coilovers and get a bigger rear and front sway bar so i don't have much body roll. I'm pretty set on the ST's from the research that ive done. I appericiate all the input that ive gotten and when I order the coilovers and sway bars I'll make a new post on the updates and pictures as i do it for furture reference so I can be the one helping someone out when this question comes up again. Thanks again to everybody.

Forget the front bar. Leave the stock one in. You want to reduce under steer by stiffening the rear only.

Exactly.. Stiffening the rear will let the rear end kickout easier.

A place between here and there

I have Hotchkis fronts and rear, and the front bar makes a huge difference. Prior to this, I had the Nuespeed rear bar on with stock front (and coilovers). I first placed on the Hotchkis front bar with Nuespeed rear, and the drive changed automatically (literally like riding on rails, and the road did not exist). Then had my mechanic place on the rears (couldn't get the damn Nuespeed bracket off) and been happy ever since. Some people like only the rear, while others such as myself like both front and rear. And if going for sways, Hotchkis is the way to go. PureMS sells only the rear, if you wanted to go that route (they also sell full sets). I picked mine up before the hike in price from elsewhere (cheapest place I could find them), but now they are rather pricey.
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like the bitch
