    speculation is useless really.
    BUT, from the sound of it he did pull a no no and lock up the brakes...

    maybe his tires just weren't warmed up yet? i mean, he is a pro, those guys dont get there by not avoiding avoidable collisions

    He cuts left and it looks like he is going to make it for a split second and then he locks up and just goes straight into it. I can't say I would've reacted any better but I'm surprised he didn't just keep going around him. Maybe there was someone to his left and he was afraid of hitting them instead?
