DRLs on during unlock

Fairly new to mods..I searched the forums and only found threads with the fog lights coming on during unlock/lock. Does anyone know if this is possible? I do have vag cable.. thanks

Sound possible, there is DIY for hooking up the lights in the tech section, look it up.

When you unlock your car, the fogs come on and stay on for a minute or so, until you open the car door. When you lock the car, they come on and stay on for about a minute or so, and then turn off on their own.

I want just my DRLs to stay on not the fogs or anything else...

i'm not sure if the "coming home" feature (previously mentioned) was available on all model years, but I have it on mine. look to the left of the steering wheel. if you have it you will see a small knob that can be pushed in and out, as well as turned. it's the one with the weird icon that looks like a clock or timer or something. turn it to the 1 position to turn on this feature, and 0 to turn it off. you also might have a DRL knob as well that controls the DRL the same way.

when this feature is on, the parking lights will illuminate when you unlock the car, or when you lock it. I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, but there it is.

you can use a relay, when the fogs come on, the LEDs come on......

i think if u just look at a wiring diagram you should be able to just connect two of the wires in the switch and it will work.

There probably won't be any way to do it without hacking into your wiring. The function on the A6 is OEM. On the B7 (if you have it) it controls parking and fogs. I like the fogs because it illuminates in front of the car so you can see better in a dark parking spot. I had it on my 2006, and 2008 so I think it was available all years. It's part of the tech package IIRC.

Not possible with vag-com. May be possible by doing some re-wiring.

Connect the +ve running power to the LEDs, via 2 relays.

One relay turns on when the DRLs are turned on (my DRLS go off when my Low beam is on, done via VAG)...for this the ON for the relay is the DRL +ve.

Second relay turns on when the coming home feature turns on the fog lights. (ON for this relay is a wire taken direct after the coming home switch)

Power from both the relays is via the battery direct. Output from both the relays with diodes.

Just my logic, don't try this without being sure what you do.

Good idea, maybe I can try this in the summer. Phil probably knows more.
